Vernon Kay hits back at fans questioning how he got so many Oasis tour tickets
Vernon Kay has hit back at fans who have questioned how he got so many tickets for the current Oasis tour. The 51-year-old model and TV host, who is married to Strictly Come Dancing star Tess Daly, has been following the Gallagher brothers like a shadow after they kicked off their 41 date tour this month.
Liam, 52, and Noel, 58, launched their Oasis Live '25 Tour in Cardiff on 4 July where they performed two night and are now in the midst of a five night run at Manchester's Heaton Park. Former T4 host Vernon was among the crowd at Principality Stadium to watch Oasis perform in Wales.
And this weekend, he shared video clips of himself enjoying the group again - this time from Heaton Park in Manchester. The fact that he has appeared at two points on the same has left some music fans perplexed.
Following their gig on Friday, Vernon shared footage of himself watching the boys on stage while he sang along in the 80,000 strong audience. He shared the footage on his main Instagram grid, writing: "Manchester! Day1. @oasis The excellence continues! Bravo!!" along with a flame emoji.
But one baffled fan responded, writing: "How did Vernon get so many tickets? Cardiff now Manchester!" However, the mystery was anything but - as Vernon swiftly answered the question himself, writing in reply: "Paid for them!!"
Vernon, who has been the mid-morning host on BBC Radio 2 since May 2023, has been working for the BBC at Heaton park too. He interviewed support act Cast ahead of the weekend shows.
By all rights, the new Oasis tour has been a smash hit among fans and critics. The tour sees Liam and Noel belt out 23 hit songs - with crowds lapping up the banter, vocals, and staging.
Oasis: What's Their Story? An unofficial celebration magazine on sale now!
A few simple words on social media on August 27 in 2024 were enough to spark pandemonium among Oasis fans and were the catalyst for the most eagerly awaited UK gigs of all time.
This special unofficial magazine, available to order here, marks the reunion and honours the band both now and down the years with our incredible archive of photos and interviews - and with exclusive reviews and photographs of their first show!
The Mirror's Showbiz Editor Mark Jefferies attended one of Oasis's first two Heaton Park gigs and was blown away by the performance - as well as the friendly relations between the lead singers. He recounts: "On Saturday night at the end of the show the brothers hugged and then Noel pointed over to his brother in a clear show of admiration and to tell the crowd just how much he loved Liam's performance. It was a shocking sight, the total opposite of their old rows on stage."
Having managed to attend three of the first four gigs, Mark adds: "Would I like more stage interaction? Of course. And some of the lines on stage are now pre-planned which doesn't feel very Oasis. But the Gallaghers have grown up, and like their mature fans who can only manage to jump up and down for the odd song in three these days, this style of set is what they need to make things work."
The Mirror's Daniel Bird also attended one of the Manchester dates, revealing: "Walking out at Heaton Park, you could never have imagined that there was once a feud between the two siblings. Putting on a united front, the two legends walked out to their 2000 track, F***in' In The Bushes, to a crowd of 80,000 people, with the atmosphere instantly becoming electric."
Oasis performed at Heaton Park on Friday 11 and Saturday 12 July - and will return for three more gigs in the park in north Manchester. They have dates there on July 16, 19 and 20.
They then advance to London's Wembley Stadium where they will take to the stage on July 25, 26 and 30 and August 2 and 3. While the two gigs in Manchester were a success, they were also marred by controversy as music fans without tickets attempted to storm the venue.
Police arrested 15 people over the weekend as dozens of fans attempted to scale the security barriers with a ladder.
Manchester Evening News reporter Chris Slater, revealed: "An eyewitness has told me that just before Oasis came on stage around 50 people tried to 'rush' one of the internal entrances to the gig area. They said around 10 appeared to get in but the rest were apprehended and turned away."
Police later confirmed: "No one made it through to the concert area". A dispersal order was issued in the park to combat the ticketless Oasis fans - and viral footage showed at least one man being led away in handcuffs.

Strictly's Stacey Dooley warns 'they'll take me from you' after daughter drama
The former Glitterball Trophy champion was in London with her husband to promote their new play, but the couple's day got off to a chaotic start Stacey Dooley was forced to deliver an ultimatum to her daughter Minnie following "a couple of meltdowns" from the two-year-old before heading into London promote her West End play. The former Strictly Come Dancing winner and her partner Kevin Clifton, who first met after claiming the Glitterball Trophy in 2018, were scheduled to feature on Zoe Ball's BBC Radio 2 programme over the weekend to discuss their nationwide tour of 2:22: A Ghost Story. Unfortunately, the day got off to a rocky start with Zoe informing her audience that her guests had endured "a dramatic morning", resulting in "lots of people running around" backstage attempting to sort out the chaos before broadcast. As she introduced the pair to her show, Zoe revealed: "I am thrilled to say that they've just about made it. But it's been a dramatic morning for our guests today, an awful lot has happened, but they're here now, it's Dooley and Clifton!" After being introduced into the show, Stacey spoke frankly about the chaos the family of three had experienced in their rush to reach Broadcasting House. The documentary maker confessed: "I've just been painfully predictable this morning." The trouble began when Minnie refused to take a shower, with Stacey admitting she was forced to give her daughter an ultimatum, as her face was smeared with food. She said: "We've had a couple of meltdowns at about 8 o'clock this morning, which was really fun, and then we didn't want to shower, 'I don't want a morning shower', and I said, 'You've got ravioli around your face, baby! They'll take me off you!'" The excitement continued as Stacey, Kevin and Minnie reached the Radio 2 studios, where she "got stuck" while attempting to reach Zoe's radio studio. Stacey went on: "And then I got stuck in the stair lift, and your amazing producer came to save me," prompting Zoe to tell Kevin: "There was lots of people running around past the glass Kev, and I was like, 'What's going down?'" Kevin shared his perspective, saying: "They were all looking for Stacey's phone because she lost her phone downstairs, and, as we know, Stace will not get in a lift and we're, like, on the top floor of the building here. "So they had to find some secret passage to get Stacey up the stairs. It's been a real journey to get here." Stacey playfully interrupted with a quip: "I'm no hassle! I'm no hassle," leading Zoe to jest: "You knew this when you got involved, Kev! You knew what you were getting involved in!" Kevin chuckled and concluded: "Yeah, I've got these two manic redheads who are making my life really dramatic!" 2:22 – A Ghost Story is set to be the first project that reunites Stacey and Kevin since their dazzling days on Strictly, as they step into the characters of Jenny and Sam in this spine-chilling play, reports Wales Online. He took to Instagram to announce their collaboration with a snap of the duo, captioning it: "Day 1 back working with this little fella again. Last time was 7 years ago @sjdooley @222aghoststory."

Meghan Markle fans convinced she 'doesn't age' as they learn how old she is now
Meghan Markle is celebrating her birthday and fans can't get over how old she actually is. Many have taken to social media to say the former Suits star 'doesn't age' Meghan Markle marks her 44th birthday today (August 4). The past 12 months have marked many major changes for Meghan, especially since the dawn of 2025, with the launch of her new Instagram account, lifestyle brand, as well as her Netflix cookery show. But despite her busy year, and long-running rift with the Royal Family, she still looks incredibly fresh-faced despite turning another year older. People have flocked to social media to share their well-wishes and many also remarked on how youthful her appearance is. One fan said she just "couldn't believe" how old she was due to her "baby face" and natural beauty. One gushed: "Meghan looks younger than me, and I'm 25." A woman said that looking younger than you are is in "the genes". They added: "My daughter is almost 62, just gone through bowel cancer, never had Botox or anything in her life, doesn't wear heavy makeup, and people think she's around 35-40! I'm 87, and people think I'm around 76! It's in the genes". A third gushed: "It's official – Meghan Markle doesn't age." And a fourth asked: "How can Meghan be turning 44? She looks so young and fresh." Others urged her to make a "skincare line" because "that face card is lethal" – and thankfully, Meghan has done just that. In recent months, Meghan has opened up about her skincare routine. Netflix show – With Love, Meghan – shared a list of her must-have fashion and beauty favourites – and they include a 'glass skin' moisturiser available from Boots. While many of Meghan's favourite products are expensive or only available to buy in the US, one product she recommends is the reasonably priced Collagen Jelly Cream from viral brand Medicube. Previously quite tricky to find here in the UK, the Korean beauty brand has just launched into Boots with a 20% off introductory offer, taking this Collagen Jelly Cream down from £26 to £20.80 for a big 110ml tub (most moisturisers come in 50ml pots). She's also revealed her favourite lip balm to keep her pout looking lovely and juicy, as well as a highlighter that gives her that 'lit-from-within' glow. While products aren't guaranteed ways to turn back the clock, it's definitely interesting to see what's in her beauty bag.
