CM Punk, AJ Styles, and El Grande Americano to lock horns in Money in the Bank qualifier on WWE RAW

Time of India31-05-2025
The road to the Money in the Bank 2025 Ladder Match reaches its final turn on the June 2 episode of WWE Raw. In a triple-threat match, CM Punk, AJ Styles, and El Grande Americano will clash for the sole remaining spot in the men's ladder match, set to take place on June 7.
Solo Sikoa, Seth Rollins, LA Knight, Andrade, and Penta have already secured their spots in the MITB Ladder Match. One spot remains, which will be fought among the WWE Raw stars.
The announcement came during the May 30 episode of WWE Smackdown, revealing that AJ Styles and CM Punk will face each other for the first time inside a WWE ring since the 2025 Royal Rumble. While they've never met in a singles or triple threat match in WWE before, their highly acclaimed matches in Ring of Honor back in 2004 make this a must-watch. However, both stars come to the match with rivalries brewing.

CM Punk's road to this qualifier is filled with tension, mainly because of his ongoing feud with Seth Rollins and the newly formed faction, which includes Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed. The rivalry heated up recently when Punk ran from behind to hit Rollins with a surprise GTS on last week's Raw, leaving the faction stunned.
This bitter feud dates back to earlier clashes, such as the triple threat match at WrestleMania 41, where Seth Rollins defeated CM Punk and Roman Reigns with Paul Heyman's help. More recently, Rollins' faction, with Bronson Reed's support, secured a victory over Punk and Sami Zayn in a tag team match on Saturday Night's Main Event, adding more fuel to the fire.
Seth Rollins has already qualified for the Money in the Bank Ladder Match, where CM Punk may end up facing him if the 'Second City Saint' qualifies in the upcoming WWE Raw episode.

AJ Styles enters this qualifier with his own set of grievances, particularly towards El Grande Americano. Styles suspects that El Grande is, in fact, Chad Gable, who allegedly assisted The Judgment Day in a previous tag team match against Styles and Penta. This suspicion led to a backstage altercation where Styles attacked Gable, further fueling the animosity between them. Chad Gable, having previously failed to qualify on May 26, sees this match as a second chance to prove himself (as El Grande Americano).
As the final spot in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match hangs in the balance, the intertwining rivalries and personal vendettas promise a thrilling and unpredictable contest on Raw.

WWE Icon Bret Hart Hitman Names "Best Wrestler" Today, Also Calls Gunther 'Unprofessional'

One of the finest performers in WWE history, Bret Hart 'Hitman' still enjoys a great fan following. Over the years, the Hitman developed a legacy for himself that can send any fan of that era into nostalgia. Speaking of the wrestlers at present, Bret Hart didn't shy away from ranking CM Punk at the absolute top of the charts, while also admitting that he is a big fan of the Tribal Chief, Roman Reigns. From wrestlers of the previous generation, Hitman called himself a huge fan of Rey Mysterio. "I'm a forever Rey Mysterio fan. I love watching Rey even now today, especially as he gets older," Hart told Complex Sports. "But I'm also a big fan of Roman Reigns, and I think if I had answered the question, I'd say CM Punk." Bret Hart also shared his views on what makes him admire wrestling, saying it has to be as close to be real as possible. After seeing some of the performers in the recent past, Hitman also said that he doesn't like the way Gunther conducts himself. "The best wrestling has to pretend to be real. That's what I did. I tried to make it as real as I could," Hart said in a chat with "The Masked Man Show" on Tuesday. "Contrary to that Gunther guy, who seems like a nice enough guy when I met him, but I hate wrestlers that hurt each other on purpose." "I have no respect for guys who hurt each other all the time. It's just to me, lazy, shit wrestling when guys like Gunther... I've told him this to his face, it's bullshit. When you're hurting somebody for real, you're unprofessional. I wrestled guys and never hurt anybody." "Who ever won a fight with a chop? What a waste of time," said the 68-year-old. "They hurt, they look like shit. They make a big slap sound, but they hurt. "When you get chopped by somebody like Ric flair for a 30-minute match and he chops you 15 times, your whole chest the next day is bruises. It hurts to put a shirt on."

Sunny Hinduja opens up on playing Pakistani ISI agent in ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha'

Actor Sunny Hinduja, who portrays a Pakistani ISI agent in the upcoming Netflix series Saare Jahan Se Accha, says he had no hesitation in taking on the role. For him, the focus is always on the strength of the character rather than its nationality or background. 'There is a lack of good roles, and for every good role, there are a hundred people waiting,' Sunny told IANS. 'As an actor, I don't think about where the role comes from—its caste, creed, or nationality. What matters is the quality of the role and whether it excites me.' The series, set in the tense political climate of the 1970s, follows RAW agent Vishnu Shankar, played by Pratik Gandhi, as he undertakes a high-stakes mission deep inside Pakistan. Gandhi defended the importance of having well-rounded antagonists: 'If you want to talk about Krishna, you will get Kansa, right? When we are telling a story about two intelligence agencies, the opponent has to be portrayed too.' Saare Jahan Se Accha delves into the dangerous intelligence battle between India's RAW and Pakistan's ISI at a time when every strategic decision could tip the world into nuclear conflict. The series also features Suhail Nayyar, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor, and Anup Soni. Created by Gaurav Shukla and produced by Bombay Fables with Bhavesh Mandalia as creative producer, it promises a gripping mix of espionage, patriotism, and high-stakes drama. Scheduled for release on August 13, just ahead of Independence Day, the show is set to offer viewers a tense, character-driven look at one of the most volatile periods in South Asian history.
