Jamie Lee Curtis stuns in an elegant red cape dress at the Freakier Friday UK premiere
Jamie Lee Curtis stunned in an elegant red cape dress as she continued her promotional tour at the ODEON Luxe in Leicester Square, London.
The American actress, 66, looked incredible in the flowing bright red number that skimmed her ankles.
She teamed it with a pair of classic black stiletto heels and shielded her eyes with aviator sunglasses.
Freakier Friday - which is a sequel to the 2003 film - sees Lindsay Lohan and Jamie embroiled in quadruple chaos as they swap bodies again - 22 years after they first traded places.
Shortly before the premiere Jamie revealed the real reason behind the long 22-year wait for a sequel to Freaky Friday.
Fans had long hoped for a sequel to the iconic comedy but had an agonising wait as Freakier Friday is only now hitting cinemas.
Now, Jamie Lee has revealed why there was such a long gap between the two releases as she admitted she has long had her eye on a follow-up movie.
Appearing on Wednesday's The One Show, Jamie revealed they had to wait until Lindsay, 39, was old enough to have a teenage child for the sequel premise to work.
'The truth is that Lindsay had to be old enough to have a 15-year-old daughter, people would ask me about the movie over and over again,' she shared.
'And finally someone in Australia said, ''well she is'' and I was like ''what do you mean?'' because I know her as this young girl so I don't know how old she is.
'So someone told me and I was, like ''Oh! well maybe we can make the movie. Let's go!'''
Lindsay was just 15 years old when she first portrayed Anna Coleman in Freaky Friday alongside Jamie Lee, who played her on-screen mother Tess Coleman.
It follows the bickering mother and daughter after a Chinese restaurant fortune cookie mishap causes them to switch bodies, forcing them to live the other's life.
Despite barely having been able to see eye-to-eye, the magical switch eventually allows them to see things from the other's point of view.
The sequel will see the iconic pairing switch places once again, though this time there is quadruple chaos in store.
Anna (Lindsay) is preparing to tie the knot with to Eric Davies (Manny Jacinto), but things are proving difficult as her teenage daughter Harper (Julia Butters) despises Eric's teenager Lily (Sophia Hammons).
Harper highlights her disgust as she's heard reciting mock wedding vows, in which she brands her soon-to-be step-sister 'a little demon thing with an obnoxious accent'.
A flash forward to Anna's bachelorette party sees her and mother Tess Coleman sit down with a fortune teller (Vanessa Bayer), who warns them they may learn another lesson by 'walking in each other's paths'.
Fans had an agonising wait for a sequel as Freakier Friday is only now hitting cinemas 22 years later, with Jamie Lee revealing it was because of Lindsay's age
Anna and Tess then find themselves caught up in yet another 'freaky' body swap incident - only this time, it's not just between the two of them.
The next morning, Anna discovers she's swapped bodies with daughter Harper, while Tess, aka 'Grandma', is now in the body of Anna's step-daughter Lily.
Quadruple chaos then ensues as the foursome try to navigate their new roles with just days to go until the wedding.
Chad Michael Murray is also returning to his role as Jake as the two teenage girls also hatch a plot to try and get Anna to reunite with her first love amid the wedding chaos.

Gary Lineker sends warning to his three Match of the Day successors - and admits he is unlikely to watch first show since his exit
Gary Lineker has sent a warning to his three successors as host of Match of the Day. Lineker has been replaced by a trio of presenters, with Mark Chapman, Kelly Cates and Gabby Logan to share hosting duties. According to Lineker, the fact that three individuals have been called upon for the job emphasises how much of a commitment it is. Lineker told Four Four Two: 'That's probably down to the fact it's a massive commitment. 'Those three have all got families, and if you're saying someone is going to do it for the next 10 or 20 years, then your weekends are gone. That might be it, I don't know. I didn't get involved in any of that. I take it as a compliment that they've named three, but I suspect it's not due to that.' Lineker has backed the trio to be hugely successful but admitted that he probably won't be watching the first show of the season live. He said: 'I haven't seen them yet to speak to them, but I will do – they'll be fine and they'll do a great job. I've known them all for years, they're top presenters. 'I'll be watching, but probably on iPlayer… I don't think I'll be watching on Saturday. Maybe the odd time, if I'm in.' Lineker first presented Match of the Day in 1999 as he replaced Des Lynam. In November last year it was announced that he would depart the show at the end of last season. Lineker had been due to be part of BBC's coverage of the 2026 World Cup but was axed in May after sharing a social media post which sparked an anti-Semitism row. Chapman will host this season's first edition of Match of the Day on Saturday night, with Alan Shearer and Wayne Rooney as pundits. Cates, who has extensive experience of working for Sky Sports, confirmed that Lineker hadn't been in contact with any of the new presenters. 'No he hasn't got in touch and I haven't got in touch with him, but not because we're not avoiding each other,' Cates said as part of Sky Sports' launch of the new Premier League season. 'We just don't know each other. 'I know Gary to say hello to (but) we just don't know each other that well. And I think Chappers was saying that Gary said: 'Well, why would I tell three broadcasters how to do their job?' which is very lovely of him because he was brilliant at the job and adored. 'And as much as he was a controversial character at times, any focus group that was researching will tell you how much he was adored in that role. 'So I think from my point of view, the reason not to do it would be, I don't want to be Gary. I think there's a temptation to try and be someone else, and I think that you get a job because of yourself. 'And if then you try to be someone else, it can all just get a bit confused. I don't need another thing to think about. I don't need to be sitting there thinking: 'What would Gary do?' It's not a decision not to. It's just we don't have that relationship.'

Comedian Milton Jones says he is ‘cancer free' after undergoing surgery
Comedian Milton Jones has announced he is cancer free and will be extending his stand-up tour after cancelling several dates earlier this year following his diagnosis. The 61-year-old, who is known for his appearances on cancelled BBC Two show Mock The Week, thanked the doctors and nurses who had helped him amid his treatment for prostate cancer and said he is 'in a completely different place' now. Advertisement A statement from Jones to the PA news agency said: 'A few months ago, I had to stop my tour Ha!Milton because I needed treatment for prostate cancer. 'I'm glad to say I've had that treatment and am now cancer free! Milton Jones said he had cancer in April (Graham Finney/WENN/Alamy/PA) 'So, many thanks to all the doctors and nurses who helped me get better – I couldn't do their job (I tried, but apparently you have to be qualified). 'I have to admit there were a few dark moments when I wondered if anyone would ever see me again, but then I realised that I was leaning against the light switch. 'Thankfully I'm now in a completely different place, and if you look at my website, you'll see that very soon I'll be in lots of other different places on tour too – I hope to see you there.' In April, Jones announced his diagnosis in an Instagram post where he explained he would be needing time to recover after undergoing surgery. Advertisement In the comments, Olympic cyclist Sir Chris Hoy, who has incurable stage four prostate cancer, said: 'Really sorry to hear it mate, best of luck.' View this post on Instagram A post shared by Milton Jones (@themiltonjones) The comedian rescheduled some of his summer gigs and has now announced more than 20 new dates to take place across September, October and November in cities and towns that include Exeter, Guildford, St Albans, Newbury, Crewe, Wrexham and Bury St Edmunds. His stand-up show, Ha!Milton, which is currently scheduled to end in November, is a play on words, making reference to the hit musical of the same name. Everyone's forgotten these celebrities once auditioned for The X Factor: From reality TV icons to popstars - and even an Olympian - these stars were determined to make it no matter what!
The X Factor was a reality TV juggernaught, enthralling millions of viewers with its annual battle to find the nation's next big popstar at its peak. Created by Simon Cowell in 2004, the show helped to launch the careers of some of the UK's biggest stars, including One Direction, Little Mix and Alexandra Burke. But the ITV talent show went on a hiatus after its 2018 series suffered a plunge in ratings. Three years later, Simon confirmed it wouldn't be returning. While the programme kicked-off many glittering careers in showbusiness, you have probably forgotten these famous faces once tried their luck on the show. Luckily we're here to remind you... Max George At the tender age of 16, and sporting a broken arm, The Wanted's Max George decided to try his luck on The X Factor. Heading to the Salford's Lowry Hotel with his dad, Max auditioned in front of Simon Cowell, Louis Walsh and Sharon Osborne. Max impressed the judges at the time, with Simon Cowell hailing him 'a young Robbie Williams ' - however he was cut from the show at the bootcamp stage. One year later Max returned to The X Factor, this time as part of the boyband Avenue. The band thoroughly impressed the judges and they sailed through to the live finals. But Avenue landed themselves at the centre of a scandal when it was revealed they already had professional representation, which was against show rules at the time. The band was brutally disqualified from the show as a result. Max has since reflected on his first X Factor audition, and called it a moment which changed his life. Speaking to the Manchester Evening News in 2018, he said: 'That day at The Lowry was when it all changed.' He added: 'That night I told my dad there was an open audition for X Factor and I said I'm going to go. He took me down, and that was it then, I never looked back after that really.' Mollie King Before her success with The Saturdays, Mollie King tried to make a go of being a singer on The X Factor not just once, but twice She rose to fame as one fifth of the band The Saturdays, alongside S Club Juniors stars Rochelle Humes and Frankie Bridge. But before her success with the girl group, Mollie King tried to make a go of being a singer on The X Factor not just once, but twice. She made her debut show back in 2005, but her attempts at singing left judges Sharon Osbourne, Louis Walsh and Simon Cowell less than impressed. While Simon actually seemed otherwise quite taken with her revealing style, Sharon chastised her for her awful wardrobe choices after the so-so audition, that saw Mollie warbling through I Just Want To Make Love To You. 'I think you're dressed totally inappropriately,' the red-haired music manager said, to which boss Simon replied, 'Well, that didn't bother me too much!' Mollie, who was 18 at the time, was clad in a slinky, draped metallic top and tiny white shorts that showed off the beauty's stunning frame, but it wasn't perhaps the right choice for an X Factor audition. But that fateful visit in 2005 on the second series of the show - which was eventually won by Shayne Ward - wasn't the only time Mollie tried her best. She returned in 2007 with girl group Fallen Angelz, this time with a far more urban and colourful look. They ran into the small studio singing their hearts out and skipping along, something that seemed to thrill Simon. Mollie and her equally badly-dressed cohorts shouted rather than sang a version of Avril Lavigne's Girlfriend, which caused quite the reaction from the judging panel, which this time included Dannii Minogue. Jasmin Walia Jasmin Walia started out on The Only Way Is Essex as an extra back in 2010, before becoming a full-time cast member two years later. But after her TOWIE fame, Jasmin began her venture into the world of music and auditioned for The X Factor. Jasmin failed to impress Simon Cowell, Mel B, Louis Walsh and Cheryl when she auditioned for the ITV show back in 2014. She auditioned alongside her brother Danny Walia at Arsenal FC's Emirates Stadium in north London. But sadly things didn't go her way and the aspiring singer ended up sobbing after being dealt four nos by the judges. She told The Mirror at the time: 'I'm sure they had heard of TOWIE. I think they did grill me a bit because of who I am but I couldn't talk back to them at the time because I respect people. 'The X Factor was brutal but I just tried to take it all on the chin. I don't regret it. At the time, I was like 'Oh no' - I felt like I'd really let myself down. 'But do you know what? I just got nervous. It happens.' However the reality star later proved her singing prowess in December 2016, when her performance as Princess Jasmine received rave reviews. Bianca Gascoigne The adopted daughter of former footballer Paul Gascoigne tried her luck on X Factoron the ninth series in 2012. Before singing for Gary Barlow, Tulisa, Louis Walsh and guest judge Rita Ora, Bianca explained: 'This is really what I want, I love singing and hopefully they can see that when I walk on stage, you know that I really do care and that I'm going to be nervous because it means so much to me.' However her version of I'm Goin' Down by Mary J. Blige failed to impress the judges and left her family in tears as they heard the remarks. Gary kicked things off by saying: 'If I could compare you with the other 25-year-olds we've had it's really not good enough. 'What the other 25-year-olds have is that they've been singing like all their lives, seriously singing. At 25 you should be a lot better than that. In general it was a bit of a mediocre audition.' Louis Walsh said: 'Bianca you haven't got a bad voice, you've got a great image you know but it's tough because we've got some amazing singers in this category already.' Tulisa was also a lot more supportive as she tried to sugarcoat the bad news. She said: 'I appreciate and admire the fact that you've come up and basically wanted to try something different and change the public's perception of you. 'I think you're a cool girl I've met you out a couple of times but I've got to be honest i don't think the vocals were strong enough for this competition.' Guest judge Rita Ora gave the final negative comment and said: 'I can tell you were nervous but I agree with T, I think we've seen better singers.' With each judge saying no, Bianca was sent home as Tulisa explained to Rita and Louis that she found that whole audition 'really awkward'. Louis Smith Not content with winning a bronze medal at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, gymnast Louis Smith took his talents to the X Factor judges in 2009. With no major competition until the autumn of that year, Louis decided to enter the contest after seeing an advert. He belted out a rendition of East 17's If You Ever - but the judges were left unimpressed. 'It wasn't good enough,' said head judge Simon Cowell. 'I don't think you'll ever be good enough.' He added: 'So stick to doing what you're brilliant at doing. For you to achieve what you've achieved at your age is incredible.' Speaking to Radio Times about his attempt, he said: 'It was a bit of fun. 'I had to make a decision when I was eight and got offered a scholarship in singing either to do that full time or carry on with gym. I chose gym.'
