Previously, the close was expected in the first half of 2026.
In January, Disney agreed to combine its Hulu + Live TV with Fubo and become majority owner of the combined company. The agreement was struck in the midst of a legal tussle that saw Fubo challenge a proposed sports streaming joint venture called Venu between Disney, Fox and Warner Bros. Discovery as anti-competitive. The partners delayed Venu's launch under a preliminary injunction and ultimately scrapped it and settled with Fubo after a judge denied their motion to dismiss the case.
Disney and Fubo simultaneously announced their own deal to create an expanded MVPD player with 6.2 million subscribers.
Fubo and Hulu + Live TV will continue to be available to consumers as separate offerings post-closing. Hulu + Live TV, will continue to be streamed in the Hulu app and be offered as part of the bundle with Hulu, Disney+ and ESPN+. Fubo will continue to operate in the Fubo app.
The agreement gives Fubo the right to launch a new Sports & Broadcast service featuring Disney's sports and broadcast networks including ABC and ESPN well as ESPN+ if the deal closes or not.
The new Fubo will continue to be run by current management led by CEO David Gandler. A board of directors has yet to be announced. Fubo will continue to trade on the New York Stock Exchange with the same stock symbol, FUBO.
Disney will own 70% of the company. The media has had operating control of Hulu but gained full ownership in June when it completed the acquisition of Comcast's minority stake.
Today's filing also included updated, combined pro forma financials for the March 2025 quarter – meaning numbers calculated as if Fubo and Hulu + Live TV were already one company.
It reported total revenue of $1.56 billion ($1.12 billion Hulu + Live TV, $416 million Fubo), operating expenses of $1.64 billion, and an operating loss of $85 million.
Po forma net income of $134.8 million showed a $41 million loss at Hulu + Live TV and a $188.5 million profit at Fubo, inflated by a $220 million gain that was part of the settlement with Disney, WBD and Fox.

‘Golden Bachelor' Mel Owens confronted by contestants on show after his age remarks
Mel Owens is correcting his recent fumble. The former NFL star, 66, revealed that while filming this season of 'The Golden Bachelor,' some of the contestants confronted him for his ageist remarks. Owens had said in June that he refuses to date women over the age of 60. 8 Mel Owens in May at the Disney Upfront. Disney 'One of the dates was a roast. It was brutal,' he confessed to Glamour in an interview published on Friday. 'They were killing me…. It was good.' After all, Owens knows he was in the wrong for his comments. 8 Mel Owens in New York City. Disney 'My reference of dating was 39, 40 years old,' he explained to the outlet. 'I hadn't dated in 26, 27 years. And at that point, I still hadn't dated, so my reference was my age, basically. That's what I told my friend.' However, Owens' pal didn't agree with the attorney. He added, 'She goes, 'It doesn't matter. You've said some things that are just incredibly wrong.' And I go, 'I've got to apologize.'' 8 Mel Owens poses with Jessi Ngatikaura and Layla Taylor. Disney Owens also set the record straight on why he agreed to do the reality show despite not wanting to date anyone over 60. 'Because I didn't know anything about 'The Golden Bachelor' ages,' he confessed. 'I didn't know the age range. To me, the age range was 45 to 60. That's my age range. I go, 'Oh, okay.' So I'm thinking that's the 'gold' years for me. My reference again was when I was dating at 39, 40. I hadn't dated in 26 years, so I had no clue. And that's why the comment. I didn't know.' While on the 'MGoBlue Podcasts with Jon Jansen' in June, Owens also made the jab that he wasn't interested in dating women with any artificial hips. 8 Mel Owens and Ryan Clark at the Disney Upfront. Disney Looking back, the athlete regrets that statement. 'I know [that's not right]. People run marathons. I'm an attorney, I represent athletes with injuries, and most of them are football, hockey, and a lot of them have artificial hips,' he went on. 'I apologized to the women on the show. When I first walked in, I addressed it. I apologized to them. I said, 'It was unfair, insensitive. I want to earn it back. Just give me the chance.' And hopefully, these last two, three weeks, I earned some of that back.' After Owens' podcast appearance, fans called for the reality star to be recast. The news made its way back to Owens. 8 Mel Owens and Hannah Storm smile for the camera. Disney 'My friend asked me, 'Hey, are you getting replaced?' I go, 'Not that I know of,'' he recalled, admitting that he would have been upset if he had been. 'Looking back on it and looking forward, it's a great experience,' Owens gushed. 'It's such a great experience for me, and so, oh yeah, I wouldn't have wanted to be recast. But I'm going to earn it back just by being myself and being fair and apologetic and honest and be myself.' Not everyone is so quick to give this year's golden bachelor a second chance. Some fans shared they won't be tuning in when Owens' season airs next month. 8 Mel Owens is the new 'Golden Bachelor.' Disney But the California resident thinks that would be a mistake. 'Well, if you don't tune in, you'll never know,' Owens teased. 'So you got to tune in. And again, I'm trying to earn it back. So, watch the show and see if I earn it back. Because I apologized.' 'To earn it back, you have to be earnest in your work to get the trust back,' Owens continued. 'And everybody there is smart and they can see through you if you're lying or you don't mean what you say. That's why I say tune in.' 8 Mel Owens chats with other attendees at the Disney Upfront. Disney Along with urging fans to turn on their televisions, the ABC star knows he deserved the criticism he received. 'But I deserved [the anger],' Owens added. 'That was a mistake by me. It's unfair. It's insensitive, like I said. And I have to earn it back every single moment that I'm on the show.' In June, Owens said he told producers his preferred age range is '45 to 60, just being honest.' He also told them that 'if they're 60 or over, I'm cutting them. This is not 'The Silver Bachelor,' this is 'The Golden Bachelor.'' 8 Mel Owens at 2025 Disney Upfront. Jackie Brown / Owens revealed that the producers then told him, ''You can't use the word cut.' I go, 'Well, that's an NFL term.'' His comments were quickly faced with backlash. 'He doesn't seem like the type for 'in sickness and in health,'' one fan wrote on X, while a second chimed in: 'Awful. I won't watch with a jerk in the lead.' A third social media user stated, 'doesn't sound like much of a mystery as to why he's still a bachelor. Anyone who chooses to go on that show deserves whatever disaster they get.' Owens was married to Fabiana Owens from 2002 to 2020, and the exes share sons Lucas (born in 2005) and Andre (born in 2007), according to Us Weekly. The 'Golden Bachelor' premieres on Wednesday, September 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.

Who Is Julia Garner's Husband, Mark Foster?
Between The Fantastic Four: First Steps, Wolfman, and Weapons, Julia Garner has had a *very* busy couple of years…but somehow, she's managed to keep her private life out of the spotlight. You may not even realize that she is married (!!) and has been since 2019. Julia Garner's husband, Mark Foster, isn't just some rando, either—he's a singer and musician best known as the front man for indie pop band Foster the People. (Remember when the song 'Pumped Up Kicks' was playing legit e-v-e-r-y-w-h-e-r-e back in 2010? Yeah, you can thank Mark for that. Music vid incoming!) Although they first met all the way back in 2013, it took several years for them to start dating. Once they did, however, things moved FAST, and in a matter of 18 months, the two got engaged and then married in a fabulously low-key ceremony. Here's everything you should know about Julia's hubs, including how he met the actor and how he rose to fame with Foster the People. But first? A moment for this dreamy Gucci ad they did together: After graduating from his Cleveland high school in 2002, Mark decided to move in with an uncle in Los Angeles to pursue a music career. During that time, he worked several odd jobs, played with a few different bands, and even had a brief career as a commercial jingle writer before Foster the People was finally born. 'I felt like an 18-year-old Hunter S. Thompson,' Mark told the Los Angeles Times when asked about that time in his life. 'I was just diving into this Hollywood Hills subculture and taking it all in. I wasn't shy about taking my guitar out at a party. I wanted to be the center of attention.' Mark eventually founded Foster the People (initially called Foster & the People) with drummer Mark Pontius and producer Zach 'Reazon' Heiligman, and they played their first show in October 2009. His longtime friend Cubbie Fink later joined as bassist, and in late 2010, the group hit it big after their single 'Pumped Up Kicks' became a viral success. Today, the band is composed of Mark and keyboardist Isom Innis, and since its inception, Foster the People has released four albums: Torches, Supermodel, Sacred Hearts Club, and Paradise State of Mind. During his first few years in Los Angeles, Mark struggled with addiction while balancing several jobs and attempting to launch his music career. 'It got pretty dark,' he told Rolling Stone. 'My friends thought I was going to die. I was blind to it. When I was 19 years old, it got to a point where I said, 'Enough is enough.'…I saw time was just passing me by. I wasn't being productive.' According to Mark, it was a run-in with an old friend that convinced him to reevaluate his life. '…My friend ran into me and he just—he started crying,' Mark explained to NPR. 'And that kind of—that was the first thing that shook me up, 'cause this was, like, a kid that partied with me for a lot of it, you know. And I was like, wow, it must be serious if he's worried—just 'cause I was so skinny.' Julia isn't the first celeb Mark has romanced. He also apparently dated Nina Dobrev for, like, a month back in 2014. Ofc, the two never actually confirmed the relationship, so it's unclear how long they dated (or if they even dated at all). Regardless, pls enjoy this photo of them together from 2012 with Nina's ex Ian Somerhalder, with whom Mark is apparently also friends: Mark also sparked dating rumors with Michelle Trachtenberg for a hot minute in 2012, but again, rumors were never confirmed and they were short-lived. In January 2013, Mark met his future wife at the Sundance Film Festival, where her horror film We Are What We Are was making its debut. The two bonded over the fact that Julia's grandma lived in the same small town outside of Cleveland that Mark's dad lives in, as she later told Vogue. But they didn't exchange info at the time, and they didn't speak again until Mark found Julia on Instagram. Julia told the Hollywood Reporter that Mark started Liking all her pics after giving her a follow. 'I was like, 'Who's this guy Liking all my photos? Is this a stalker?'' she joked. 'I clicked on him and I was like, 'Oh, Mark. Oh, he's cute. I'm going to follow him back.' Then he DM'd me.' In April 2019, during a cross-country RV trip before Julia left to begin filming season 3 of Ozark, Mark decided to pop the question. The two had been dating for about 10 months at that point, and as Julia told Vogue, the proposal went down in Flathead Lake, Montana, where Mark read her an original poem before asking her to marry him. After they got engaged, Julia and Mark debated between having a big wedding or simply eloping. Initially, they'd planned on a June 2020 celebration, but luckily, they ended up tying the knot before the COVID-19 crisis became global. 'For some reason, I was like, 'You know what? Let's not wait until June. Let's just do it, because who knows?'' Julia explained to the Hollywood Reporter. In December 2019, the two had a quiet ceremony at New York's City Hall, where Julia's parents had gotten married 40 years earlier. The next day, they held a reception at Public Hotel, where Mark surprised Julia with an original song, 'Lovers in a Stream,' for their first dance. Although their schedules keep 'em busy, Mark and Julia still seem to make *plenty* of time for each other (and cheering each other on). Mark has shared TONS of mushy posts in honor of his wife and her accomplishments, and he raves about her in interviews, too. When she won her Best Supporting Actress Emmy in 2019 for her work in Ozark, Mark had a major Proud Partner Moment™ on IG. 'Congratulations, you beautiful angel of a human,' he gushed in a since-deleted post. 'It brings me immeasurable joy to see you lifted up and recognized by your peers, your industry, and your fans. You deserve every bit of love and respect. You're so incredibly special. I consider myself the luckiest guy on the planet to be able to watch whatever you do from the front row, with a bag of popcorn and your hand wrapped in mine.' Um…😍. Pls keep on being adorable, you two.

James Gunn's ‘Superman' Cracks $300 Million At Domestic Box Office
Superman — James Gunn's Man of Steel tale starring David Corenswet and Rachel Brosnahan — just reached a big box office milestone as it heads into its fourth weekend in theaters. Written and directed by Gunn, Superman opened on July 11 and earned $125 million at the domestic box office in its first three-day frame from 4,135 theaters. The film marks the first DC Studios release from Gunn and his fellow co-CEO Peter Safran after they took over the division at Warner Bros. Forgoing the origin story route, Gunn's version of Superman picks up with Superman already a well-established force for good in Metropolis, along with Clark Kent a fixture at the Daily Planet and boyfriend of Brosnahan's Lois Lane. Lex Luthor (Nicholas Hoult) sends Superman's life into a tailspin, however, when the tech billionaire finds a way to turn the public against the Krypton-born superhero. Superman crossed the $300 million mark at the domestic box office on Thursday with $2.6 million in ticket sales, boosting its 21-day tally to $302.3 million. Combined with its international gross of $225.6 million through Thursday, Superman has earned $527.6 million worldwide to date. Superman had a production budget of $225 million and a marketing budget of $125 million, according to Variety. 'Superman' And 'The Fantastic Four: First Steps' Are In A Tight Race For The Top Superhero Movie Of The Summer While Superman still has momentum three weeks in release, it's still uncertain whether it will be the superhero film that flies the highest at this summer's box office. Superman easily soared by Disney and Marvel Studios' Thunderbolts* a week into domestic theater run. Thunderbolts* (aka The New Avengers) is looking like it will wrap up its domestic run this weekend in a mere 20 venues (via The Numbers). The film has a running North American box office tally of $190.1 million. Disney/Marvel's The Fantastic Four: First Steps, however, has a shot at catching up with Superman, thanks to a solid domestic opening of $117.6 million from 4,125 North American screens. The Fantastic Four: First Steps heads into its second weekend with $158.4 million in domestic ticket sales and $99 million in international receipts for a worldwide box office tally of $257.4 million to date. Superman's theater count is dropping from 3,930 venues last week to 3,537 heading into its fourth weekend, per The Numbers. The Fantastic Four: First Steps is projected to easily win its second weekend at the domestic box office over three newcomers — the animated family comedy The Bad Guys 2, the action comedy The Naked Gun and the body horror thriller Together.
