According to The Mirror, Jon Richardson shared with fans that he would be becoming a teacher, before later clarifying that he was only playing the role of a teacher on Waterloo Road.
Taking to social media, he said: 'I just thought I'd give you a little update. I don't really do social media updates, and I'll tell you why - because I don't think anyone cares.
"But I have a little bit of news. I've obviously been taking a little bit of a break from stand-up and it's really made me… want to carry on taking a break from stand-up.'
He added: 'I've been thinking a lot about a diary entry that I found from 1997.
'It's this one. I was 14 years old, it says although I would love to be a stand-up comedian, I'll probably end up being a teacher. And I've been thinking a lot about that.'

Now, the star has apparently signed up for the Great British Bake Off's next Stand Up To Cancer special.

Inside Charlotte Dawson's wedding plans to fiancé Matt after scandal
The late great Les Dawson's daughter Charlotte Dawson has candidly revealed her plans to marry Matt Sarsfield, following a five year engagement and three children Mum-of-three Charlotte Dawson has had a busy few years – no wonder why she and fiancé Matt Sarsfield are yet to walk down the aisle. Charlotte, 32, got engaged to rugby league star Matt, 33, in 2020 and soon after started their family as they welcomed their first child together, Noah, in 2021. Two years later couple's second child, Jude, was welcomed into the world. And, just three months ago, Charlotte gave birth to their third child, a baby girl named Gigi, completing their beautiful family unit. The Dawson-Sarsfeild household is a busy one, which becomes very apparent when the Mirror catches up with Charlotte at the Pro Am Padel tour event earlier this month. Busy working mum-of-three Charlotte has her three children, fiancé Matt and a baby sitter in tow as she attends the star-studded sports event. When asked how she's finding life as a mum of three children under the age of five, Charlotte reveals: "It's absolute carnage. But it's a beautiful chaos. They're my absolute world. I finally got my little girl and the two boys absolutely dote on her. It's amazing, but really hard. Going from two to three is like having 10 kids, because you're outnumbered. Two we can manage, because there are two pairs of hands. But I think it's going to be worth it because when they're older they're going to be playing together, they're going to be best friends." No wonder Charlotte and hubby-to-be Matt are yet to set a date for their wedding, despite being engaged for almost five years. When asked when she and Matt plan to marry, Charlotte tells us: "Maybe when it gets a bit easier with the kids. I'd love Gigi to walk down the aisle in a little dress, so I think I might have to wait. I'm gonna have to anyway. I can't start planning a wedding now – Jesus, I can't even sort my own life out!" The couple have also faced turmoil in their romance in recent years. Last year, it was reported Charlotte had kicked Matt out after she discovered he had been sexting another woman. At the time, The Mirror revealed that former Celebs Go Dating star Charlotte, 31, had been left 'hurt and humiliated' after learning that Matt had sent x-rated messages to someone else. But it was later reported she took him back after Matt was left 'broken'. Emily Louise Hodgkinson, 34, told The Mirror she was left 'shocked' when former Swinton Lions player Matthew, 32, sent her an intimate picture after she posted about going for a run in 2024. The pair met via Emily's ex, who played rugby with Matthew, and followed each other on Instagram. Emily said: 'I feel so sorry for Charlotte. How could he do that to her? I'd be mortified if a partner did that to me behind my back.' Emily said she took a screenshot of the image and added that a 'worried' Matthew responded, asking what she planned to do with the photograph. However, Charlotte later took Matt back after he apologised to a cardboard cut out of her late father, Les Dawson. And, later Charlotte announced her pregnancy with her third child. She later shared her hopes that her pregnancy will make Matt a "better man". In an exclusive chat with the Mirror, she had one wish for her family's future. She revealed: "It would be amazing to have a little girl – for Matthew, too. I think being a girl dad will make him a better man, but we'll see."

GBBO's Prue Leith addresses 'mistake' during marriage as she admits 'I should've listened'
GBBO's Prue Leith addresses 'mistake' during marriage as she admits 'I should've listened' Great British Bake Off judge Dame Prue Leith opened up about a piece of advice she wished she had listened to in her first marriage with Rayne Kruger, as she reflected on a financial error Dame Prue admits she "lost money" as she opens up on a "mistake" (Image: PA ) The Great British Bake Off star Dame Prue Leith has opened up about a "mistake" she made in her first marriage, as she admits, "I should have listened". In recent years, Prue has become known as a judge on the popular baking show, but it was long before she made her debut on the Channel 4 show that she began to lay the foundations, for what has been a hugely impressive career in the culinary world to date. Rewinding back to the early 1960s when the 85-year-old was in her early 20s, she recalled swapping England for France, where she took big steps into the world of cooking. At the highly-prestigious Cordon Bleu Cookery School in Paris, she learned the skills of the trade and since then, her career has mostly been on a high. Dame Prue opened her first restaurant in the 1960s (Image: Getty Images ) Opening up her first restaurant, Leith's, in 1969 led to great success as proven by her Michelin star status. She went on to land an agreement to head up the catering branch of the Serpentine Gallery, located in Kensington Gardens, London. Article continues below Recently commenting on her finances, she told the Observer magazine how her decisions about money haven't always worked in her favour. During her first marriage to Rayne Kruger, Prue claimed he warned her that starting the venture was a "mistake". Looking back, she said: "Neither of my husbands have been intimidated by my success. My first would say when he thought I was making a mistake, like taking on the Serpentine restaurant in the middle of Kensington Gardens. She has since re-married after the passing of her first husband in 2002 (Image: Getty Images ) "I had visions of Chablis and smoked salmon, but what customers wanted was a burger. We lost money hand over fist. I should have listened." Prue's first marriage, which produced her son, Danny Kruger, lasted 28 years after Rayne passed away in 2002. Since then, the baker has gone on to marry her second spouse, former fashion designer, John Playfair, who has recently been starring alongside her in Prue Leith's Cotswold Kitchen. While her time at the Serpentine didn't turn out as planned, no one can doubt her huge career success since then. Having appeared in a few TV shows previously, it was in 2017 that she took over the reins from Dame Mary Berry, to join Paul Hollywood in hosting the Great British Bake Off. She recently stepped back from the celebrity version of GBBO (Image: Getty Images ) Having remained on the show ever since, fans of the programme were left surprised earlier this year to see that she was absent from the celebrity edition of the show, which saw Good Morning Britain presenter, Kate Garraway crowned the winner. Article continues below However, she later clarified that the decision to step back had come as a result of wanting more time off due to the busy filming schedule. Prue also confirmed that she will remain as a judge on the non-celebrity version of the show.
