Sister of Liam Neeson's late wife Natasha Richardson reacts to his ‘budding romance' with Pamela Anderson

Sister of Liam Neeson's late wife Natasha Richardson reacts to his ‘budding romance' with Pamela Anderson

Sky News AU3 days ago
Liam Neeson's new love appears to have his former sister-in-law's approval.
Pamela Anderson took to Instagram on Friday, August 1, to share a carousel of sweet photos of herself posing with Neeson to promote the release of their new movie together.
'The Naked Gun is finally in theatres!' Anderson, 58, wrote. 'Bring your friends, family, lovers… whoever… just go and have a laugh… It's good for you! I'll see you there.'
Natasha Richardson's sister, Joely Richardson, then shared seven red heart emojis in the comments section of Anderson's post.
Joely's apparent support for Neeson's rumored romance with Anderson excited many of the former 'Baywatch' star's fans, and several took to the comments section to share their reactions.
'Classy and loving as always,' one person wrote underneath Joely's comment.
'Very sweet of you,' added another, while a third commented, 'Okay, this is everything.'
Neeson, 73, married Joely's sister, Natasha Richardson, in 1994 after the pair met and worked together on the Broadway revival of 'Anna Christie' one year earlier.
Before striking up a relationship with Richardson, the 'Taken' star had dated Helen Mirren and Barbra Streisand.
Neeson and Richardson went on to welcome two sons together: Micheál, now 30, and Daniel, now 28.
But tragedy struck in March 2009 when Richardson passed away from a traumatic brain injury she suffered during a skiing accident in Quebec. The beloved 'Parent Trap' actress was 45.
Neeson later opened up about his wife's passing and the grief he endured during an interview with '60 Minutes' in 2014.
'Grief hits you. It's like a wave,' he told host Anderson Cooper at the time. 'You just get this profound feeling of instability. You feel like a three-legged table. Just suddenly, the Earth isn't stable anymore.'
'And then it passes and becomes more infrequent, but I still get it sometimes,' the 'Star Wars' actor added.
Then, in October 2024, Neeson claimed that he was done dating.
'No, in a word,' he told People last year. 'I'm past all that.'
But that appeared to change when the Oscar-nominated actor and Anderson met and began working together on Seth MacFarlane's 'The Naked Gun' reboot.
'With Pamela, first off, I'm madly in love with her,' Neeson, also in October 2024, said. 'She's just terrific to work with.'
'I think I have a friend forever in Liam, and we definitely have a connection that is very sincere, very loving, and he's a good guy,' Anderson told Entertainment Weekly last month.
The pair both brought their sons to the NYC premiere of 'The Naked Gun,' and then pretended to make out on live TV during a July 29 appearance on 'Today.'
Insiders have since claimed that Neeson and Anderson are dating and 'enjoying each other's company.'
'It's a budding romance in the early stages,' a source told People in July. 'It's sincere, and it's clear they're smitten with each other.'
'It's very sincere how they feel,' another insider told Page Six. 'That is the truth.'
'They're not going to show up on the red carpet and be adorable just to be fake, that's not either of them,' they added. 'This is happening in real time, here and now, so I don't know what things look like moving forward.'
The Post has reached out to Neeson and Anderson's reps for comment.

Kevin Federline set to release memoir in October

Kevin Federline is set to release a memoir. The 47-year-old star - who was married to Britney Spears between 2004 and 2007 - is set to release You Thought You Knew, via the new audio imprint Listenin, on October 21. Kevin said: "This book is extremely intimate and transparent. "I achieved my biggest dreams, dealt with crushing heartbreak, and endured constant ridicule, all while becoming the father my children needed as they experienced nonstop emotional turbulence. If you've ever had questions, you'll find answers here." The memoir is being billed as "deeply personal and emotionally grounded" account of Kevin's life. The dancer - who has sons Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden James, 18, from his relationship with Britney - has promised to discuss the events and experiences that have shaped his character. Jaren Hayman, the founder of Barracuda Baby Productions, is thrilled to have worked with Kevin on the project. Jaren said: "We're proud to have Kevin as the first of our three books launching with Listenin. "He spent two years in every tabloid and two decades navigating a volatile, ever-changing reality — choosing silence to protect his kids. That silence left scars. "Listenin was built for real voices telling real stories, and sharing Kevin's after everything said about him means a lot to us. I am excited for the world to get to meet the real Kevin Federline." Britney released her own memoir, The Woman in Me, back in 2023. The book explored Britney's experience of fame and fortune, as well as her 14-year conservatorship. Britney, 43 - who is one of the best-selling pop stars of all time - described the project as a "labour of love". The chart-topping star told People at the time: "This book has been a labour of love and all the emotions that come with it. "Reliving everything has been exciting, heart-wrenching, and emotional, to say the least. For those reasons, I will only be reading a small part of my audiobook."

Catherine Zeta-Jones hails 'amazing' Jenna Ortega

Catherine Zeta-Jones thinks Jenna Ortega is "amazing". The 55-year-old actress stars alongside Jenna, 22, in the new season of Wednesday, and Catherine has praised her co-star's professional approach to their sword fight scene. She told People: "We did rehearse it. It's like choreography and stunts. "You know, we have to be careful. These are real weapons we're working with." Catherine observed that Jenna made time in her busy schedule so that they could prepare properly for the scene. The actress - who plays Morticia Addams on the hit Netflix show - said: "She'd find time in her schedule, which is a much bigger schedule than mine, to come and rehearse with me, and then we worked it with the stunt coordinator, and it turned out really fabulous." Catherine has also praised Luis Guzman, who plays Gomez Addams, for his pre-shoot preparations. The duo teamed-up to perform a tango, and Catherine revealed that Luis "just really worked hard". She shared: "We used to rehearse the four scenes outside, dodging the rain, sometimes in Ireland, in gravel to keep it every day, to keep it fresh. Because, of course, we learned it at the beginning of the show. We weren't shooting it for weeks, three months later. So to keep it fresh and to remember our moves every now and again, we just jump together and we do it. And we laughed." Meanwhile, Jenna previously revealed that she became an "unhappy person" after season one of Wednesday. The actress plays Wednesday Addams in the Netflix show, but Jenna initially struggled to cope with the pressures of fame and success. She told Harper's Bazaar magazine: "To be quite frank, after the show and trying to figure everything out, I was an unhappy person. "After the pressure, the attention - as somebody who's quite introverted, that was so intense and so scary." Jenna now serves as a producer on Wednesday and she's loving the experience of having a hands-on role with the show. Jenna - who has become one of the most sought-after stars in Hollywood in recent years - said: "I sit in on meetings and listen and learn. I'm still finding my footing in that area."

I'm uninterested in media training, says Renee Rapp

Renee Rapp is "really uninterested" in media training. The 25-year-old star is well-known for being outspoken in media interviews, and Renee insists that she has no intention of changing her approach. During an appearance on the Call Her Daddy podcast, Renee explained: "There's such an adjustment to — what a 'pick me' thing to say, but there's such an adjustment to having cameras on you in your conversations and in your personal life in a way. It just inherently is an adjustment. "I was like, I am truly just doing what I would be doing and talking how I would be talking except for being filmed or doing something or putting it out there, putting it in a song, putting it in whatever. "And then to like see it back is really kind of confusing because then you start to perceive yourself in a way that like other people perceive you. However, you'll never be able to see yourself how other people see you." Renee's team have actively encouraged her to be more careful with her words in media interviews. However, the actress has no plans to change her ways. She said: "I feel like I feel like people have tried [to change her]. "They were trying to kind of coach me into, like, what to say and what not to say. And it was kind of like the second I realised it, I totally just tapped out and I was like, 'Oh, I'm really uninterested in hearing this.'" Meanwhile, Renee previously admitted to being "very sensitive" and "protective" of herself. The actress - who played Regina George in the Mean Girls Broadway musical - told InStyle: "My biggest fear is being misunderstood. I'm a very passionate person. I'm very sensitive. I am protective." Renee believes people often mistake her sensitive nature for her "just being a b****". The movie star said: "I think that sometimes people can construe that as me just being a b****. "I just have very big emotions and I feel very hard. It was really hard to live like that when I was a kid. It was very difficult. Living was exhausting."
