Broncos have 3 linebackers set to become free agents
The Denver Broncos have several positions to address this offseason. Perhaps most notably on defense, the Broncos need to shore up the inside linebacker spot.
Denver currently has four ILBs signed for the 2025 season, but none of them are locked-in starters. Alex Singleton would have been in that category if not for a season-ending torn ACL last fall. Singleton is now coming off a serious injury at 31 years old with a big salary cap hit. The Broncos should not count on him as a Day 1 starter.
Drew Sanders is a candidate to start this year if he takes a big leap in his development, but injuries have hindered him to this point in his career. Levelle Bailey and K.J. Cloyd figure to be special teams players, although Bailey could surprise this summer.
Meanwhile, on the free agency front, Denver has three players -- Cody Barton, Justin Strnad and Zach Cunningham -- scheduled to hit free agency next week. Barton and Strnad were starters for most of last season, but the Broncos would be wise to find upgrades at both positions.

The NFL's free agency negotiating window opens on Monday. Denver should be active in the linebacker market. We will track all of the team's moves on Broncos Wire.

Arizona Cardinals injury updates: OL Jon Gaines, WR Simi Fehoko return to practice
OL Jon Gaines (thumb) and WR Simi Fehoko (quad) return to practice after missing last week and the preseason opener. The Arizona Cardinals are getting healthier on offense and a couple of player expected to be key reserves are returning to practice. On Tuesday, head coach Jonathan Gannon said that offensive lineman Jon Gaines and receiver Simi Fehoko would return to practice. Gaines had been out with a thumb injury. Fehoko had a quad injury. Gaines is expected to be the team's backup center but missed the preseason opener, and rookie Hayden Conner player in his place. Fehoko was an offseason addition in free agency and is battling for a roster spot. He might have an edge because almost all his 2025 salary is guaranteed. He is 6-foot-4 with speed and can do things on special teams. Two veteran defensive linemen were out to start the week. Justin Jones remains out with a knee injury. He did not play in the preseason opener. Dalvin Tomlinson, who played but was seen limping the locker room after the game, would not practice, Gannon said. The Cardinals practice Tuesday and Wednesday before flying out to Denver to have a joint practice on Thursday before playing the Broncos on Saturday. Report: Nets aren't worried about losing Cam Thomas in free-agency
The Brooklyn Nets have taken care of most of their business this offseason after taking five players in the 2025 NBA Draft and trading for Denver Nuggets forward Michael Porter Jr. At this point, Brooklyn is looking towards training camp in late September and along the way, the hope is that they will be able to find a middle ground with restricted free-agent guard Cam Thomas. "According to league sources, nothing indicates the Nets are worried about losing Cam Thomas," NetsDaily reported during its latest update on the situation surrounding Thomas and Brooklyn. The report follows an article published by ESPN in which Tim Bontemps echoed the same sentiment as other insiders that Thomas could be the most likely of the remaining RFAs to take his $5.99 million qualifying offer (QO) due to the current state of negotiations. "Amid the stream of Fischer and Bontemps' reporting, one league source told NetsDaily where Thomas sees his market," NetsDaily continued. "(Phoenix Suns guard) Jalen Green, making $33.3 million per year until 2027-28, when he has a $36 million player option, (Toronto Raptors guard) Immanuel Quickley, making $32.5 million over the next four years, (and) (Miami Heat guard) Tyler Herro averaging $32 million over the next two years. 'That's where he sees his market, if not higher,' said the source." Brian Lewis of the New York Post reported earlier this offseason that Thomas was looking for his next contract to average around $30 million per season, but the reporting from NetsDaily suggests even bigger aspirations. Lewis noted in his report that Thomas believes that he is at least on par with players like Green, Quickley, and Herro when it comes to what he should be paid in his next deal. Given the way that negotiations have progressed between Thomas and the Nets, it seems that the former LSU Tiger is not getting close to the $30 million AAV figure that he's looking for this offseason. Brooklyn has the leverage and the cap space to essentially force Thomas to play for them for at least one more year. The only question that has to be answered at this point is if Thomas will take his QO or take the two-year, $29 million deal Brooklyn reportedly presented to him.
