Celeb SAS star says 'it was nuts' after losing jaw-dropping 20lbs in just one week

Daily Mirror2 days ago
Love Island's Adam Collard has opened up about his ordeal on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins and admitted he and Conor Benn were "losing so much weight" on the show
Adam Collard shed 20 pounds in just one week during his gruelling stint on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins.

The 29-year-old Love Island heartthrob and personal trainer now wishes he'd packed on extra weight before committing to the demanding Channel 4 programme.

The fitness enthusiast credits exercise with revolutionising his life after battling body image issues and low confidence during his younger years, but the severe food restrictions throughout the SAS selection process proved overwhelming.

Fellow contestants Tasha Ghouri, Chloe Burrows, Hannah Spearritt and Louie Spence all abandoned the show in its early stages, with Adam confessing that everyone experienced moments of wanting to quit.
He revealed: "There was a few times where I think it crossed everyones mind.", reports the Daily Star.

"I'll be honest interrogation is brutal and you'll see that one of the biggest driving factors for me was the hunger.
"Me and Conor [Benn, professional boxer] were losing so much weight.
"I was having six sugars in a cup of coffee and I was like 'I can't have this little food for any longer'.

"I lost 20lbs in a week. It was nuts but I couldn't cope with how hungry I was towards the end. I went in on the back of doing a lot of fitness as well so I wasn't exactly heavy and in hindsight".
"I probably should have deliberately put an extra bit of timber on. I think physically everyone knew I'd be okay but it was the mental side I wanted to try and overcome."

Adam disclosed that he was in a " weird place" before committing to the show but remains grateful for his decision to participate. He confessed: "I was in a really weird place going into the show with my mental health and I think one of my coping mechanisms is trying to throw myself into something.
"The gym has always been my outlet and it kind of wasn't working and I think I was very emotional going in.
"There were things that happened leading up to going into the show and I was in two minds before going in because I wasn't my strongest going in but SAS has always been the one I wanted to do even more so than Love Island."

Maisie Smith says Strictly was 'scarier' than Celeb SAS despite 'crying every day'

Maisie Smith has opened up about her experience on Strictly Come Dancing, revealing that her time on the BBC One was "scarier" than her stint on Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins Maisie Adam has revealed that her time on Strictly Come Dancing was actually "scarier" than Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins - despite 'crying the whole way through' the Channel 4 show. Maisie took part in the 2020 series of Strictly Come Dancing with partner Gorka Marquez. ‌ She made it all the way to the final that year but lost out to champion Bill Bailey in the final episode. She went on to compete in Celebrity SAS: Who Dares Wins in October 2022 and won the series alongside Ferne McCann, Calum Best and AJ Pritchard. ‌ Appearing on Loose Women today, Maisie admitted that Celeb SAS took its toll - but Strictly was scarier. It comes after BBC Strictly Come Dancing start date confirmed as line-up revealed. ‌ "I did cry the whole way through," Maisie said of Celeb SAS. "Celeb SAS is worse than it looks, even when I was watching it, it was like 10 per cent of how it actually felt." She added: "Strictly was scarier because it was my first time being on TV, was a shock to the system. But SAS was so physically demanding, you can't compare them." The 24-year-old ex-EastEnders star also opened up about her partner Max George - who recently underwent heart-block surgery and was fitted with a pacemaker. Sharing an update on his health, Maisie said: "Max is getting stronger every single day, gigs every weekend, so he gets all week to chill. Except not because he's got to travel and see me but he's doing well." ‌ As for whether she would return to EastEnders, Maisie didn't rule it out. "You don't know, you never know, but I'm enjoying being on stage, the show that I'm doing is gonna be incredible," she said. Earlier today, Strictly announced its next three stars who are set to take on the ballroom challenge - with The Apprentice's Thomas Skinner, Geordie Shore alumni Vicky Pattison and Neighbours legend Stefan Dennis joining the 2025 cast. This year's stars of Strictly were spotted heading into rehearsals earlier today as Strictly fever began over in Elstree, London.

Love Island's Dejon breaks silence on ‘Surviving Dejon' book written by step-sister who branded him a ‘narcissist'

LOVE Island alum, Dejon Noel-Williams, says he plans to challenge a tell all book slate for release and penned by his sister who had labelled him a "narcissist." During his time in the villa on the ITV2 reality dating show, Dejon came under fire for his controversial behaviour and now his step-sister has added to the chorus of criticism. 4 His step-sister Niah, who is not biologically related to Dejon but shares a brother with him, has released a book named 'Surviving Dejon,' where she accused him "gaslighting" and "abusive." But Dejon has now broken his silence the ordeal and said Niah's book was full of "untruths" and he planned to take action. The footballer was dumped on day 56 of this year's Love Island, alongside his girlfriend, Meg Moore, whom he said knows him well despite what Niah had to say about him. "There's a lot of untruths and unfair stories that I am challenging at the moment, the most important thing is Meg knows who I am, my family know who I am," Dejon said during an interview on Capital X radio. Dejo then even gave a "shoutout" to previously dumped Islanders Andrada and Billykiss, who were quick to support him once he and Meg left the villa. "They told me, 'Dejon there's a lot of things being said about you, we know that's not you, we know that's not how you are as a person'," he revealed. "So shoutout to them they didn't need to do that." Prior to releasing her book, Niah had posted a series of scathing videos to TikTok where she tore shreds off Dejon's character. In the six minute video, Niah claims that what viewers have seen on TV is an accurate reflection of how Dejon behaves in real life, she began: " So I've decided to speak out because I've been silent for way too long and I know that I will be receiving probably alot of backlash from my family for this. "You guys are all clearly very traumatised from seeing Dejon on TV and seeing everything that he's doing and watching everything play out it seems as though no one is holding him accountable. Love Island's Dejon responds to step-sister's claims that he's a 'narcissist' and 'manipulative' as he insists it's 'false' She went on to say: 'Dejon is a narcissist, he's manipulative. I've been telling everyone this for the past 10 years now but no one believed me. And it's just crazy now that the whole of the UK can see what I've been trying to explain to people for so long." Niah also revealed in a later video that four family members had messaged her asking her to take her video down. "So, yeah, that clearly isn't a coincidence," Niah said speaking on the family messages: "At first, I did consider taking it down, but then I realised why would I take something down when I strongly believe in everything that I said." Netflix's Love Is Blind UK star has very famous ITV star cousin

The Love Is Blind UK stars have been revealed and one contestant has a famous cousin who is a reality TV champ A contestant on Love Is Blind UK has been unveiled as having a famous ITV cousin, who is also well-acquainted with reality TV fame. ‌ The popular reality dating show returned to our telly screens yesterday (August 13), introducing viewers to a new batch of 30 singletons ready to plunge into the global dating experiment in search of love. ‌ The hopeful singles have moved into a communal house where they'll spend two weeks chatting to potential partners in "pods", unable to see each other but able to hear and send gifts to one another. ‌ If a pair decide to get engaged in the pods, they meet for the first time in a long hallway before setting off on a couple's trip. Audiences are already hooked on the new series and cast, and among the Love Is Blind contenders is Yolanda, the youngest member of the pod squad, reports OK!. The 26 year old thrill-seeker loves nothing more than skydiving and bungee jumping. She's taking a bold leap into the show, hoping to catch a partner who's up for joining her on exciting adventures. Yolanda will have plenty of support along the way, including from her famous cousin Mimii Ngulube, who bagged the Love Island crown last year. The reality TV star, better known as Michelle, won the Love Island title alongside then partner Josh Oyinsan in 2024. At the time, Yolanda appeared on Aftersun, showing her support. ‌ The cousins even teamed up for a festive Boots advert. "Join Mimii and her cousin Yolanda as they pick out some of the best beauty and fragrance gifts from Boots this Christmas," the ad teased, showcasing their tight-knit relationship. Now, it's Yolanda's moment in the spotlight. Matt and Emma Willis have returned to host the popular programme and if the first series is anything to go by, the fallout from series two will be packed with drama and viewers will be quick to share their thoughts online. ‌ One participant has already left audiences 'feeling physically sick' as he describes his rather unusual profession. Whilst introducing himself to singer Aanu, Patrick Justus disclosed that he worked as a human design coach. Clarifying it was "like a lifecoach but using a system called spiritual design", Patrick's key philosophy in life was to "trust your spleen", explaining that "splenic energy" was a more powerful force than gut instinct. ‌ Chatting in the pods to potential partner Yolanda, Patrick revealed that he follows his spleen "literally to the second", later adding: "Listening to my spleen is the best way to find the love of his life." Audiences were swift to share their reactions as one posted on X:"I loveee Patrick, do you know how nice you have to be for me to ignore the fact you keep mentioning your spleen? ?". "Please the word "spleen" is just making me cringe and feel physically sick. How many times are we going to have to hear this nonsense" said a second. Another person chimed in: "This bloke and his damn SPLEEN, his spleen should have told him to stay home."
