Ironheart: 5 Fun Facts About Marvel's Genius Superhero
The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) reveals itself as a vast plain of existence just waiting to be explored by the everyday superhero fan. As we hit Phase 5 of the Marvel timeline, new characters such as the 'New Avengers' from Thunderbolts are making their big screen debut, creating hype for what's to come in their productions.
Adding to the already equipped list of heroes is one debuting on the small screens, which has created much talk about her story on Disney+. 'Ironheart' is an upcoming television series following genius inventor Riri Williams, who was inspired to follow in the footsteps of Tony Stark, aka Iron Man. Here are some fun facts about the MCU's newest femme hero to get you started on her story:
1. She Reverse-Engineered Iron Man's Suit
As a genius inventor endorsed by Tony Stark himself, Riri Williams was given the chance to work on her own inspired Iron Man suit, which fans were able to catch a glimpse of in 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever'. In the comics, her first suit was based on Iron Man Armour Model 41, which was one of Tony Stark's older models that she reverse-engineered to put together. When her personal project was found out by the FBI, she went on the run, which marked the start of her hero story.
2. She Is An Ally Of Wakanda
Riri Williams made her first MCU appearance in 'Black Panther: Wakanda Forever', where she was brought in by Shuri to aid in the upcoming war in the city. As war raged in the Citadel, she was protected by Ramonda, the Queen of Wakanda, who had sacrificed herself to save Williams. Feeling guilty for the death of the Queen, she aided Shuri in the battle to defeat Namor, where we catch a look at Ironheart in action with a newly improved Ironheart armour. She was named an honorary citizen after the battle.
3. She Dropped Out Of MIT To Become Ironheart
Following the 'Ironheart' comics, Riri Williams debuts as a genius inventor enrolled in the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT). However, things were not as bright as they seemed, as her time in school was met with disrespect from her faculty's Dean. She scrapped the whole balancing school work with superhero work and dropped out of MIT to focus solely on her new life as Ironheart.
4. A Founding Member Of The Champions
If you aren't familiar with the Marvel comics, The Champions is a band of younger heroes of the Marvel comics formed when Ms. Marvel, Miles Morales, and Nova quit the Avengers. They recruited Ironheart as a member as they formed a team that cared more about helping people than just about fighting bad guys. Not much is revealed yet about its MCU adaptation, but we could be seeing a premiere on Disney+ after 'Avengers: Secret Wars'.
5. Ironheart Has her Own JARVIS
In a similar manner to Tony Stark's humorous AI, JARVIS, Ironheart also created her own AI, which helps her fight crime. Her AI is called the Neuro-Autonomous Technical Assistant & Laboratory Intelligence Entity, or NATALIE for short. The name has significance to William's past, as that was her friend's name who had been shot during a drive-by shooting. NATALIE personality is based on William's memories of her friend, which take a more dominating persona.
Are you excited about the newest addition to the MCU? Ironheart premieres in Malaysia on Disney+ Hotstar on 25th June 2025, with a three-episode drop.

‘Mission' misses, ‘Karate Kid' stumbles as ‘Stitch' stays strong at North American box office
LOS ANGELES, June 2 — Disney's family-friendly Lilo & Stitch, a live-action remake of the 2002 animated film, won the North American box office for a second week in a row, taking in another US$63 million (RM268 million), industry estimates showed Sunday. So far, its worldwide take is at a whopping US$610 million, Exhibitor Relations said. Maia Kealoha (as Lilo), Hannah Waddingham, Courtney B. Vance and Zach Galifianakis star, while Chris Sanders again provides the voice of the chaos-creating blue alien Stitch. Mission: Impossible — The Final Reckoning — the latest, and ostensibly last, in the hugely successful Tom Cruise spy thriller series based on a 1960s TV show — took second place with US$27.3 million in the United States and Canada. The Paramount film has made another US$231 million overseas, which should help offset its massive production budget, reportedly at US$400 million. Debuting in a disappointing third place was Sony's Karate Kid: Legends, a sequel featuring Ralph Macchio — the star of the original 1984 classic — and action flick icon Jackie Chan, along with Ben Wang in the title role. It made US$21 million at the domestic box office and another US$26 million overseas. 'Legends is trying to invigorate the story with a new Kid — again — but business is not strong,' said David A. Gross of Franchise Entertainment Research. In fourth place was Warner Bros. and New Line's horror film Final Destination: Bloodlines, at US$10.8 million. And another horror film, Bring Her Back, debuted in fifth place with US$7.1 million. 'This is a very good opening for an original horror movie that cost only US$4.5 million to make,' said Gross. Rounding out the top 10 were: Sinners (US$5.2 million) Thunderbolts (US$4.8 million) Friendship (US$2.6 million) The Last Rodeo (US$2.1 million) J-Hope Hope on the Stage — live tour broadcast (US$940,000) — AFP

Premiere Date, Cast & More: What We Know About 'The Devil Wears Prada 2'
In 2006, the movie based on the novel of the same name, 'The Devil Wears Prada', premiered to the world and quickly became a success. The movie is a global phenomenon, making a lasting impact on pop culture. Twenty years later, the much-loved cult classic has confirmed its long-awaited sequel. In July 2024, there were reports that Walt Disney Studios was in the early stages of developing a sequel to 'The Devil Wears Prada'. A year later, the puzzle cheered over the good news that the movie is in the works! As fans prepare for the return of Miranda, Andy and more, here's what we've gathered about the sequel so far: The Movie Is Set To Premiere In May 2026 One recent update about the movie is that it's coming sooner than expected. After months of speculation, Disney confirmed that they have set the theatrical release date for the sequel for 1st May 2026. However, this date is for the US release, so international fans still have to wait to find out when (or if) the movie will be released in their respective countries. The Main Cast Reportedly Reprising Their Roles Of course, the movie wouldn't be complete without the iconic cast line-up. While nothing is confirmed, Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway and Emily Blunt will reportedly reprise their roles as Miranda Priestly, Andy Sachs and Emily Charlton. As for Stanley Tucci, there's still no news on whether he'll be back as Nigel Kipling, but fans are hopeful he'll also join the sequel. Fun fact: This could be Meryl's second time in a sequel, in all over her decades-long career. Notorious for never doing sequels, she had only reprised her role in 'Mamma Mia 2'. The Movie Might See Miranda Facing Off Against Emily While the book does have a sequel called 'Revenge Wears Prada', the movie version of the sequel won't be based on this new chapter. Instead, the upcoming movie reportedly follows Miranda as she navigates the challenges of the declining print publishing industry. Rumour has it that she will face off against Emily, who is now a high-powered executive for a luxury group that Miranda is eyeing for their advertising dollars. David Frankel Could Return To The Director's Chair The original 'The Devil Wears Prada' wouldn't have been a reality without the director, screenplay writer and producers. The great news is that writer Aline Brosh McKenna and producer Wendy Finerman will maintain their positions. Meanwhile, director David Frankel is in talks to helm the project again, but only time will tell if he's back in the director's chair. Sources: Variety, Vogue Arabia

Streaming Giants Hit by Credential Theft Surge
A new report from cybersecurity firm Kaspersky has revealed that over 7 million streaming service accounts were compromised in 2024. Affected platforms include major names such as Netflix, Disney+, Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV+, and Max. The findings point to a growing risk for Gen Z users, who not only use these platforms for entertainment but also treat them as social and cultural touchpoints. According to Kaspersky's Digital Footprint Intelligence team, the compromised credentials were not stolen directly from the streaming services but were harvested through broader malware campaigns targeting infected devices. These threats typically stem from unofficial downloads, pirated content, browser extensions, or compromised apps that covertly gather login details, session data, and other personal information. In 2024 alone, Kaspersky identified 7,035,236 leaked credentials linked to major streaming platforms. Netflix was the most affected, with 5.6 million compromised accounts, primarily in Brazil, Mexico, and India. Disney+ saw over 680,000 exposed accounts, especially in Brazil, Mexico, and Germany. Amazon Prime Video was less impacted but still recorded 1,607 compromised accounts, mostly in Mexico, Brazil, and France. Once malware infects a device, the threat extends beyond streaming platforms. Attackers can extract cookies, login credentials, and even banking details, which are then sold or leaked on underground forums. In some cases, cybercriminals distribute stolen data freely to build credibility. Reusing the same password across multiple services can lead to widespread digital intrusion, identity theft, and financial fraud. To address these risks, Kaspersky has launched 'Case 404' — an interactive game designed to educate Gen Z users on cybersecurity. Players take on the role of AI-powered detectives, solving realistic online crime scenarios. Upon completion, users receive a discount on Kaspersky Premium, turning education into actionable protection. Polina Tretyak, Digital Footprint Analyst at Kaspersky, explains that Gen Z's emotional connection to streaming can create security blind spots. Malware hidden in unofficial downloads or third-party tools can silently collect and expose personal data. Protecting streaming accounts today requires more than strong passwords — it also means securing devices, avoiding suspicious downloads, and being vigilant about online behaviour. To help users stay safe, Kaspersky recommends using legitimate, paid streaming services, downloading apps only from official sources, and avoiding suspicious file types such as .exe or .msi. It's also critical to verify website authenticity before entering any personal information and to regularly update passwords for compromised accounts. Combined with security solutions like Kaspersky Premium and Kaspersky VPN, these practices can help protect personal data and reduce the risk of credential theft in an increasingly connected digital landscape.
