DCU insider teases strong contender for Wonder Woman in James Gunn's reboot
According to Hollywood insider Umberto Gonzalez, Andor actress Adria Arjona is currently a 'strong contender' for the iconic role.Speaking on The Box Office Podcast, Gonzalez pointed to Arjona's visibility in television and her industry connections—particularly her friendship with Jason Momoa, who is set to play Lobo in Supergirl—as factors that align with the DCU's casting approach. He explained that the studio appears to favor rising stars over A-list names, citing David Corenswet's transition from television to leading the new Superman film.
While some fans are enthusiastic about Arjona stepping into the role, others remain skeptical. Co-panelist Jeremy Brewster noted that her involvement in Andor may complicate her candidacy and speculated the studio might ultimately choose a lesser-known actress. 'She could actually… request a Nicholas Hoult salary,' Brewster added, pointing to budget considerations.
Fan speculation spiked recently when Gunn was seen following Arjona on Instagram, leading some to believe her casting was imminent. Addressing this, Gunn clarified in an interview with Extra that he's known Arjona since working with her on a film years ago and has followed her since then. Still, he acknowledged, 'She'd be a great Wonder Woman.'
No official casting decision has been announced, but Gonzalez believes announcements for both Batman and Wonder Woman could arrive sooner than expected. As the DCU evolves, fans await more details about its new heroes and the eventual formation of a revamped Justice League.

James Gunn's Superman breaks Man of Steel box office record
James Gunn's Superman has officially surpassed Zack Snyder's Man of Steel at the domestic box office, setting a new record for solo Superman films in the United States. According to Box Office Mojo, the 2025 reboot has grossed $292.4 million domestically as of July 29, overtaking the $291 million total from Snyder's 2013 installment. Starring David Corenswet as the latest iteration of the iconic superhero, Superman serves as the launchpad for the rebooted DC Universe (DCU) under Gunn and producer Peter Safran. The film arrives after the closure of the DCEU in 2023 and represents a significant creative shift for DC Studios. Despite strong competition from summer blockbusters like Jurassic World Rebirth and The Fantastic Four: First Steps, the movie continues drawing sizable audiences. Internationally, however, Superman has seen more modest returns, collecting $214.1 million so far, for a global total of $506.5 million. By comparison, Man of Steel earned $379 million overseas and $670.1 million worldwide. Gunn has suggested that the lower international turnout may be influenced by current political sentiment abroad, including rising anti-American attitudes. Nevertheless, the film now holds the title of the highest-grossing standalone Superman movie in U.S. history. It has also outperformed Superman Returns (2006) and all of Christopher Reeve's Superman films in both domestic and global box office tallies. Even so, no Superman title has yet surpassed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, which still leads with $874.3 million globally. Critically, the film has been well received. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently holds an 83% critics score and a 91% audience rating — both higher than Man of Steel and several earlier entries. With strong word of mouth and sustained interest, Superman marks a hopeful new beginning for the DCU and its evolving cinematic future.

Farhan Saeed confirms ‘Suno Chanda 3' script is underway
Farhan Saeed has addressed fan speculation surrounding a potential third season of Suno Chanda, confirming that its script is currently in development. The actor-singer recently appeared in an episode of Tapmad's YouTube series, where he participated in a segment titled 'Truth or Rumour.' When asked by the host, 'Suno Chanda 3 script is secretly in the works and you have already read the script,' Saeed responded, 'Half of it is true and half of it is false.' He further clarified, 'I have not read the script but it is being written. I'm not sure if the show will definitely happen.' Loyal fans of the show erupted with excitement following Saeed's statement. One fan echoed the audience's wishes, commenting, 'We want Suno Chanda season 3!' while another enthusiastically wrote, 'Can't wait, Farhan Saeed! Bring it on!' However, the confirmation was met with some skepticism as well. One Instagram user commented, 'Wanna see them (Farhan Saeed and Iqra Aziz) together but in a different type of story. Suno Chanda 3 shouldn't be in continuation with previous seasons!' Another criticised the idea of reviving the show, writing, 'They don't have anything new or creative to grow the industry, that's why it is getting worse day by day.' Suno Chanda was a game-changer in the world of Ramadan dramas. From its very first episode in 2018, the series captured hearts across Pakistan and beyond, becoming one of the most beloved Ramadan dramas of all time. The on-screen chemistry between lead actors Farhan Saeed and Iqra Aziz was undeniable, and the show quickly became a go-to for families seeking a feel-good, laughter-filled experience during the holy month. Back in March, Farhan Saeed shared that while he would be thrilled to return to his beloved character, he had one condition: the story must be fresh and original. He emphasized, 'I am happy to do it, but it has to be with a new story, and then we'll see how the fans receive it.' In 2022, the show's writer, Saima Akram Chaudhry, also promised to pen the third season of the hit series. Taking to Instagram, she wrote, 'I am so overwhelmed by the response of my fans. This is the love I have been carrying since season one.' She added, 'If my fans showered the same love for my current projects, Hum Tum and Chaudhry and Sons, then this is my promise that I am going to write Suno Chanda season 3, for the love of Suno Chanda.'
