Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves drive fans wild with shock romantic reunion... 30 years after Speed
Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves are revving up to star in a romantic thriller from Amazon MGM Studios.
It's been 19 years since they filmed The Lake House and 31 years since the classic Speed hit theaters and the actors, both 60, are ready to give their onscreen chemistry another go.
The studio is keeping details of the plot to themselves for now. Noah Oppenheim, the writer behind Jackie and Zero Day will write the script and Speed producer Mark Gordon is also attached to the project.
Sandra and Keanu celebrated 30 years of Speed last fall at Beyond Fest in Los Angeles.
'We knew we were doing something wacky,' Reeves said of Speed's plot.
'I was behind the wheel of a projectile, so I was just happy to be alive at the end of the day,' Bullock joked.

At Beyond Fest they also discussed the possibility of a Speed 3.
Bullock said 'Speed 3 would be the geriatric version. It won't be fast.'
Fans were excited by the news of a Reeves and Bullock reunion and heralded it with compliments including, 'perfect couple ever,' 'I'm so ready for this!!!,' 'This is too good' and 'Yesssss.'
Another fan commented on one of the duo's past movies, writing, 'I loved The Lake House. Great movie.'
And finally, someone else wrote, 'The IMMEDIATE butterflies I got when I thought this what a Speed 3 announcement at first glance.'
Earlier this year, Sandra saw her 2000 film Miss Congeniality have a surge in popularity, 25 years after it was released.
At the time of its release, the actress and producer received less praise for starring as a smart but clumsy FBI agent, who happens to be a huge tomboy but ends up going undercover in a beauty pageant.
Ahead of the movie turning 25 in 2025, the movie is now climbing the charts on streaming service Netflix despite its low 41 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.
However, at the time of its release, Miss Congeniality grossed $212 million, a notable box office number against its budget of $45 million.
The underrated action rom-com also did well enough that Bullock ended up reprising the role for a 2005 sequel.
In the original flick, Bullock stars as Gracie Hart, a tomboyish FBI special agent who undergoes a major transformation when she chosen to go undercover at a Miss United States pageant after the agency learns of a bomb threat targeting the event.
She plays opposite a star-studded cast including Michael Caine, Candice Bergen, William Shatner, Ernie Hudson and Heather Burns.
Several years ago, Bullock was asked about a potential Miss Congeniality 3 and had a strong, adverse reaction.
'God no! No, no,' Bullock replied when probed about the possibility of her reprising her role.
She also shared her regrets about the sequel and said Miss Congeniality 2 'shouldn't have been done' in a April 2022 interview with Metro UK.
However, she said that she's 'glad' the follow-up movie was filmed anyway 'because of Regina [King], who I just freaking adore.'
King joined the sequel as Bullock's character Gracie's partner Sam Fuller.
About the original Miss Congeniality, Bullock added: 'That one should have remained a one-off.'
In Miss Congeniality 2: Armed and Fabulous, Bullock reprises her role as Gracie, who is now facing her newfound fame after going undercover and competing in a beauty pageant.
But her overnight celebrity status does not faze her new partner Sam Fuller, portrayed by Regina King.
The partners must put their differences aside, however, when one of Gracie's former beauty queen pals Cheryl Frasier (Heather Burns) goes missing and the FBI is put on the case.

Isidor and Ida Straus were renowned for their unwavering unity on the sinking Titanic back in 1912. Ida famously declared in their final moments: "I will not be separated from my husband. As we have lived, so we will die together." Eyewitnesses recounted seeing them clasping hands as the ship went down. This tender scene was captured in James Cameron's blockbuster film, Titanic, showing an elderly couple holding each other tight as the vessel sank. Intriguingly, Wendy Rush, the wife of the late Titan innovator Stockton Rush, is the great-great-granddaughter of the devoted Straus pair. According to her LinkedIn, Wendy holds the role of director of communications at OceanGate, reports the Irish Star. Tragically, the Titan's voyage claimed the lives of Stockton Rush, Paul-Henri Nargeolet, Hamish Harding, Shahzada Dawood, and Suleman Dawood, when it imploded underwater in 2023. Since tying the knot in 1986, Wendy and Stockton shared an extraordinary connection to the Titanic's history. With three expeditions to the site of the RMS Titanic wreckage, which lies deep in the North Atlantic, Wendy continues to honour their legacy. Wendy's maiden name reflects this lineage. Born Wendy Hollings Weil, she descends from Minnie Straus Weil, the progeny of Isidor and Ida Straus. The German-born couple, long-time American residents, were already in their golden years – 67 and 63 respectively – when tragedy struck on the Titanic. Documents at the National Archives reveal that the venerable Strauses were travelling back from a trip to Germany with Ida's maid, Ellen Bird, and Isidor's valet, John Farthing, when the catastrophe occurred. Isidor launched his successful retail venture by leasing space in Macy's in 1888. By 1896, he and his brother Nathan had taken full ownership, and he even served as a US Congressman. Ida's loyal maid, survivor Ellen, later recounted the last wrenching moments she spent with the couple. She recalled Ida, in the midst of chaos, entrusting her luxurious mink coat to Ellen, stating she would have no further use for it. In later years, Ellen endeavoured to present the cherished mink back to the Straus heirs, but they respectfully refused it. While searchers recuperated Isidor's body, Ida's was claimed by the ocean. An inscription at their New York mausoleum poignantly reflects their love: "Many waters cannot quench love - neither can floods drown it."

Netflix release first look at Liam Payne's final music project before his death
Netflix has released a first look at Building the Band, a new music competition series featuring the late Liam Payne as a guest judge. The series, which matches singers to form bands without seeing each other, was announced by Netflix in September, before Payne died on 16 October after falling from a third-floor hotel balcony in Argentina. A first-look clip released on Wednesday (11 June) does not show Payne, but Netflix confirmed he appears in the series alongside fellow guest judge Kelly Rowland. Netflix said in a statement the former One Direction star's family reviewed the series and is 'supportive of his inclusion'. The show was one of Payne's final projects.
