Yahooa day ago

That prospect is quarterback Graham Simpson, who is the younger brother of current Alabama redshirt junior signal caller Ty Simpson.

While unranked currently according to the 247Sports Composite recruiting rankings, Simpson is likely to be among the top quarterbacks in the 2028 class when they are released. Attending Westview High School in Tennessee, the 2028 prospect currently owns over 10+ offers, according to 247Sports.
Simpson is also the reigning MaxPreps National Freshman of the Year, doing so during the 2024 season after what was a phenomenal campaign in which he threw for 4,135 yards with a 57:1 TD:INT ratio and a 75.6% completion. A few former Alabama stars have also won the award previously, which includes both Dylan Moses (2013) and Jase McClellan (2016).
Alabama does not currently have a player committed in the 2028 recruiting class.

Saudi side drop out of Xhaka race – Sunderland and Fenerbahce still in the running

According to Sacha Tavolieri, Granit Xhaka will not be joining Neom SC this summer. After agreeing personal terms with the Swiss international, the Saudi Arabian side saw an opening €8 million offer rejected by Bayer Leverkusen. Unwilling to raise their bid, Neom SC have now withdrawn from the race. Tavolieri adds that Sunderland and Fenerbahce are currently the leading contenders for Xhaka's signature, though there is a sense the midfielder is holding out for the best possible offer. A stay at Leverkusen also remains an option, with Die Werkself hopeful that clarity over his future will come soon. 'Of course, we're now in the phase where we're finalizing the squad – that's obvious. Granit plays an important role in that, which is why it certainly won't be an issue that drags on throughout the entire transfer window," Bayer Leverkusen managing director for sport Simon Rolfes recently said.

Arsenal sign highly-rated Liverpool forward Smith

Arsenal have completed the signing of highly-rated Liverpool forward Olivia Smith. WSL Full-Time were informed of the news via an official club press release from The Gunners this morning. More information was also provided on the club's official website. It has been reported that Arsenal have paid an undisclosed fee to secure the player's services. The actual transfer fee has not been revealed, however, it is believed that Arsenal may have broken the world transfer record and Smith may have become the first £1 million player in the women's game. The 20-year-old Canadian international joined Liverpool from Portuguese club Sporting CP last summer. Smith enjoyed an excellent first year in England, scoring nine goals in 25 outings for the Merseyside club. Her performances caught the eye throughout the 2024/2025 campaign. On the international stage, Smith has been capped by Canada on 18 occasions while she has scored four goals. Smith is a major talent and she will now begin the next stage of her development with European champions Arsenal. After joining The Gunners, Smith said 'It's a privilege and an honour to sign for Arsenal. It's my dream to compete for the biggest titles here in England and in Europe and I'm excited to get started and contribute to doing that here with Arsenal. The atmosphere the supporters create at Emirates Stadium is incredible and I can't wait to have that behind me now.' Smith is Arsenal's third signing of the summer transfer window.

Contract details for new Steelers CB Jalen Ramsey fully revealed

Jalen Ramsey's contract details have just been fully revealed — and here's what Steelers fans should know about Pittsburgh's newest cornerback. According to Spotrac, a well-respected source of information on sports finance, Ramsey's contract with the Steelers is a four-year, $84.7 million deal — including $19.5 million in guarantees, all of which he'll receive this upcoming season. Ramsey's 2025 cap hit is set at $4.904 million, and his 2026 salary includes only $3.5 million in injury-only guarantees — an absolute steal for Pittsburgh. It was previously speculated that the Dolphins had to trade Ramsey in a player-for-player deal due to his expensive contract — which might explain why the Steelers sent away one of the NFL's highest-paid safeties in Minkah Fitzpatrick. While both defensive backs involved in the trade are considered past their prime, Ramsey's versatility to play outside, in the slot, and at safety offers Pittsburgh an arguable upgrade over Fitzpatrick — whose lack of splash plays played a part in the Steelers' eagerness to deal him.
