Florida State quarterback Tommy Castellanos is standing on business.
As he should
It was obvious that Castellanos would address his previous comment about Alabama sooner, before the opener, which is a 3:30 p.m. kickoff on Aug. 30 at Doak Campbell Stadium.
A reminder of what he said about the Crimson Tide, in an interview with On3, Castellanos stated that without Nick Saban, Alabama's defense will struggle against him.
In day two of the ACC Media Kickoff, Castellanos remained confident about dealing with Bama in FSU's season opener and seemed to have the support of teammates who feel the same way.
"We stand on what I said," Castellanos said.
"But there's no disrespect between that team or anything like that. It's just the confidence that I have in my teammates and the way we've been preparing and putting this preparation together this off-season, I just feel confident in the guys and the work that we've been putting in. Just feel confident in me and my teammates and Coach Norvell and how he's get."
Whether the results will go against Castellanos' favor, and the internet world will react to it in the worst way possible, his point has been made.
Why can't Castellanos feel that no defensive team can stop him?
This is the same quarterback who produced 3,300 total yards and 28 total touchdowns on his own as a sophomore, including 1,113 yards on the ground.

Tommy Castellanos' confidence is exactly what FSU football needs
No football player, coach, or fan needs a choir boy behind center. Even for head coach Mike Norvell, when he fiercely stated that he is not looking for sidekicks.
Castellanos seems like the no-sidekick kind of guy. The moment he enrolled at FSU, Castellanos was viewed as a leader. He does have an enriching personality, as he alluded to on different occasions.
He is the complete opposite of DJ Uiagalelei last, who was quiet and as aggressive when commanding his teammates, at least from what we've seen from a distance.
Castellanos has a combination of a Jameis Winston-type attitude, as he compares himself, but also a mixture of Jordan Travis when it comes to swag, and can back things up with his level of play.
No, we didn't see it last in his final tenure at Boston College. Castellanos clearly didn't fit the pro-style offense created by Bill O'Brien, which led to a complete fall-off in his season and ultimately resulted in his departure from the program after being benched late in the year.
"You know, I'm very thankful for Boston College and all the people there that supported mewhen I was there," Castellanos said.
"I had a great time there. But we're past that. I'm focused on this season and focused on everything going forward with my new teammates and my new team."
Castellanos has a clean slate with nothing to lose. He's off the radar of everyone as one of the top QBs in his own conference, let alone on a national scale. That means no one will see it coming, except Castellanos.

Cowboys may have stumbled into a superstar as a second-round pick angles toward starting

The Dallas Cowboys needed help at defensive end for the 2025 season. Facing the loss of long-time starter and multiple-time Pro Bowler DeMarcus Lawrence, the team needed reinforcements. The club had drafted the position, highly, but had yet to reap any dominating rewards. So when the opportunity presented itself to secure themselves the potential steal of the 2025 draft, they jumped on it Dallas secured the services of perhaps the best pass-rushing defensive end of the draft when they drafted Boston College's Donovan Ezeiruaku. But pre-draft accolades don't matter if it doesn't manifest itself on a pro field, and while training camp isn't the real thing, what Ezeiruaku has shown in Oxnard has a lot of people extremely excited. Rundown Position: Defensive End Age: 21 Height: 6-foot-2 Weight: 248 pounds Hometown: Williamstown, NJ High School: Williamstown College: Boston College (Highlights) Draft: 2025 Second Round (No. 44 overall) Acquired: 2025 draft Contract: Four-year contract (2025), $10.2 million 2025 Base Salary: $840,000, $1.85 million cap hit Profile With Micah Parsons not participating in practice due to his contract dispute, Ezeiruaku has been declaring himself as a true force to reckon with. Lining up primarily as a left defensive end, Ezeiruaku has shown a complex rush attack that is far beyond his years. He's also displayed the ability to set the edge, looking like he's ready to take on a starting role sooner rather than later. Dallas brought back Dante Fowler, who left for a season in Washington, and the expectation was that he'd be starting opposite Parsons, but that may not be the case and if it is may not be for long. The Cowboys also signed Payton Turner, a former first-round pick like Fowler, as veteran depth. They join last year's second rounder Marshawn Kneeland as Parsons' supporting cast. That's before mentioning 2022 second-round pick Sam Williams, who is looking to return from an ACL injury. Together, the Cowboys have assembled a tremendously pedigreed group at defensive end, but Ezeiruaku looks like a potential breakout star amongst the room. Alabama football 2025 season preview, predictions: Parker Brailsford

As we enter the 2025 college football season, there are likely few offensive lineman nationally better at what they do than Alabama Crimson Tide center Parker Brailsford. A returning starter along Alabama's offensive line, Brailsford is back for year two in Tuscaloosa this fall, entering the campaign as one of the top centers in all of college football. One of the players who followed Crimson Tide head coach Kalen DeBoer from Washington, Brailsford also returns to Alabama after turning down the NFL draft this past offseason, and as a result, is likely now set for an even better 2025 campaign compared to what was already a strong season a year ago. Here is everything you need to know about star Alabama center Parker Brailsford entering the 2025 season. Parker Brailsford player information Parker Brailsford career stats Brailsford is certainly not an unfamiliar face to college football, entering his fourth season this fall between his time at both Alabama and Washington. Across his prior three seasons, Brailsford has appeared in a combined 28 games, each of which he has started, receiving multiple honors along the way. Parker Brailsford 2024 stats Brailsford's 2024 season was his first at Alabama after transferring from Washington. A year ago, Brailsford started all 13 games for Alabama at center. Before coming to Alabama, Brailsford was considered by 247Sports as the No. 22 overall prospect in the transfer portal last offseason, as well as the No. 2 interior offensive lineman. Rated as a four-star prospect, Brailsford also committed to Alabama in Jan. 2024. Parker Brailsford 2025 season outlook As we enter the fall, Brailsford's role for Alabama in 2025 is a given. The redshirt junior is cemented as Alabama's starting center entering the season, and barring injury, will remain in that spot throughout the year. Overall, expect a phenomenal redshirt junior season for Brailsford in which he is one of, if not, the best center in all of college football. Keon Sabb is 'ahead' of schedule after 2024 injury. What to expect from Alabama football safety

Three practices into fall camp, Alabama football safety Keon Sabb was "in a good mood, flying around." And after how his 2024 season ended, it's all he could really ask for. Sabb, whose first season with the Crimson Tide ended with a leg injury in Alabama's loss to Tennessee, is back on the practice field working out ahead of the official start of his redshirt junior season. "I'm feeling really good," Sabb said. "Jeff Allen and coach (David) Ballou did a great job getting me ready for the season. And I think I'm really close. I'm really getting there." Alabama defensive coordinator Kane Wommack said Sabb is "ahead of really every marker that we had in the offseason for him." "We weren't sure if he would be able to go to the level that he's going right now at the beginning of fall camp," Wommack said. "But he is, and he's here. I don't think I can put a number on it, but I mean he's out there playing with our guys. He's comfortable enough to be able to do that." Sabb said his leg injury happened a week or two before the Tennessee game, but "nothing too big." In the loss to the Volunteers, he hobbled off the field helped by trainers and had his left leg wrapped on the sideline. He later returned in the second half and played 30 snaps overall. "I just wanted to be there for my teammates," Sabb said. DeBoer later confirmed Sabb had surgery to repair his ailment and said in November the safety would be "back and ready to roll for next year." It's something Sabb wanted to do, especially since the safety didn't end his first season at Alabama with a national championship ring. As Sabb flies around in a good mood on the practice field, that's the reason he came back, ultimately. "I didn't accomplish what I wanted to as a team," Sabb said.
