Battlefield 6 trailer countdown, release time and everything we know so far
The much-anticipated return of the Battlefield series is on the horizon, with fans eagerly awaiting the first official trailer for this year's game, set to be unveiled on Tuesday, July 24.
Battlefield enthusiasts are on tenterhooks for the Battlefield 6 trailer, which carries the weight of expectation following the disappointment of 2021's Battlefield 2042 – a title that failed to impress and marked the last face-off between Battlefield and Call of Duty. The prospect of Black Ops 7 clashing with Battlefield 6 promises to stir up some nostalgic excitement in the gaming community this year.
Regrettably, the series has been on a downward trajectory, with recent instalments prior to Battlefield 2042 garnering lukewarm to poor critiques on Metacritic. On a personal note, I reckon Battlefield 3 was the last truly solid entry, and I've given up hoping for a revival of Bad Company, especially since we haven't seen a new addition since Battlefield: Bad Company 2 in 2010.
While concrete details around Battlefield 6 are scarce, an open beta has been confirmed by the game's official Twitter feed, teasing that "Starting at Open Beta players can choose official playlists with Signature Weapons locked to class, or not".
In a bold move, Battlefield Labs – the closed testing ground for Battlefield 6 – broke away from the traditional locked weapons system, which ensures players stick to their roles, opting instead for a more anarchic approach where any class can wield any weapon they fancy.
In a bid to satisfy traditionalists, it launched Signature Weapons and traits, with a Reddit post from May providing more insight. Essentially, there are passive, class-specific traits, while certain classes will gain a class perk when using a weapon typically associated with that class – though anyone can use it.
For instance, a Recon class player wielding a sniper rifle will be able to hold their breath (and stabilise their aim) for longer than an Assault class player using the same rifle.
Despite players expressing their disapproval in the comments, it appears this overhauled class system will feature in the Battlefield 6 open beta. As for the open beta's launch date, the EA App disclosed the build date as Monday, August 4 (via Reddit), so we might see it go live sometime in August.
We'll undoubtedly learn more tomorrow following (or during) the official Battlefield 6 trailer release, and here's precisely when that happens.

Battlefield 6 trailer countdown and release time
The Battlefield 6 trailer is set to drop on Thursday, July 24, as confirmed by the game's Twitter account.. If you head over to the YouTube channel, the start time is scheduled for 7.57am PDT / 10.57am EDT / 3.57pm BST, but we've got the Battlefield 6 trailer countdown above for you to check how much time remains before it goes live in your area.
We've embedded the YouTube video below, which should go live when the Battlefield 6 trailer is released on Thursday, July 24.
The release date for Battlefield 6 may be revealed in the upcoming trailer, along with details about the open beta. However, according to rumours and leaks, the game is slated for an October 10, 2025 launch.
This information comes from the 1BF Telegram Group (via Reddit), which mines data from Battlefield Labs for tantalising tidbits. Dataminer @temporyal has also contributed to the speculation, suggesting that while Battlefield 6 won't be free-to-play, it will feature a free-to-play battle royale mode - because we clearly don't have enough of those games around, do we?

'UK's poshest Greggs' is in Grade II listed building and steeped in history
Greggs is one of the UK's most beloved fast food chains, and fans of the eatery are just realising there's a particularly 'posh' branch in a 300-year-old building There's nothing quite like sinking your teeth into a Greggs pastry while you're rushing about, or grabbing one of their sandwiches or coffees from the beloved sausage roll emporium for your lunch. Devotees love it for being affordable and dependable - and you can spot its distinctive blue, white and yellow Greggs branding from miles away. But this particular branch in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, appears rather different and has been crowned "the poshest" Greggs in Britain. This extraordinary branch sits within a 17th century Grade II* listed structure and is frequently hailed as the most beautiful Greggs across the nation. The heritage building's facade features timber panelling and merges Victorian, Georgian, Tudor and 1930s architectural elements. Back in the 1700s, it launched as a grocer and tea merchant, which remained in business until the 1960s. Today, it houses Britain's beloved bakery chain. Until recently, the outlet was covered in scaffolding as part of an 18-month restoration scheme. This work is now finished: the building's front has been reconstructed whilst numerous windows have been renewed and sections of the roof have been fixed. On Reddit, the outlet was christened "the country's poshest Greggs". This week, a TikTok user posted footage of the establishment and declared: "Sorry but this is the poshest Greggs I've ever seen." Greggs responded to the clip, saying: "RIP Henry VIII you would have loved Bury St Edmunds Greggs." Someone else remarked: "That isn't a Greggs. That's a Gregorys." Another said: "It's like Greggs and Wetherspoons had a baby." Another person concurred, observing: "That ain't Greggs that's Gregory's tavern for the whimsical." "I just know people eating sausage rolls with their pinky's out," one user quipped. Another likened the place to "Greggs if it was in a fantasy world." A local resident chimed in: "I grew up in that town. Everybody called it bakers oven cause that's what it was called before Greggs took it over." "I kind of like the fact they've not changed the outside of the building too much," said one other. "Love Bury Greggs," another fan declared. "If only every Greggs looked like that," added one other. In other food news, a woman recently tried a"secret" coffee shop at Buckingham Palace but was floored by the price. Another food lover tried the "UK's most expensive sandwiches" from Harrods and shared her review. Do you have a story? Get in touch at

Couple clean away cobwebs in basement and make unexpected discovery
A couple has shared their surprise after making an unexpected discovery in their home while cleaning their basement, and they aren't sure what to do about the find A couple have uncovered a time capsule under their floorboards - and it has made them question everything. The woman explained how she and her husband were cleaning their basement when they came across something unexpected under the floorboards. On closer inspection, he saw hand-written note which reads: "Welcome to the E Club members." Alongside this was a poster advertising a giveaway in 1969 where players could earn £62,500 in cash, two luxury cars or a holiday in Europe for two. Not only this but there was also a book about The Banana Splits with a sticker and its official 'code machine.' Taking to Reddit, he said: "We were tidying up the basement and I asked my husband to vacuum some cobwebs and a letter got sucked out from a space under the floorboards… emptied it out and found a bunch of things, these were pretty neat." Commenting on the find, the woman joked that she wishes the giveaway was still open because she'd "love to win a 1969 Stingray". One user said: "I saw E Club and thought you had time travellers!" Another user added: "That's cool. I found an empty 6er of original Schlitz pull tab cans from 1962 and an empty pint of bourbon under the decking in my attic. I imagine some high school kids in 1962 snuck up there to get drunk. "I also found a coke bottle and a Pepsi bottle from 1959 (the year the house was built) behind drywall in different places. Cleaned those up and have them on display. They're my treasures." A third user said: "One banana two banana three banana four!" One more user added: "Loved the Banana Splits." A final user said: "Treasure!" It comes after a woman uncovered a secret room in her 127-year-old home. She shared how she stumbled upon the concealed room when she noted something off about the panelling in an upstairs closet. Upon closer inspection, she realised it was concealing something. Sharing her find on Reddit, she wrote: "I found this room hidden in my house last year. "The only way to access it is to take the panelling down in the closet upstairs. I think it's so cool! My house was built in 1897." She shared how her son had insisted there was a discrepancy between the size of the attic and the rest of the house, suggesting an unseen area. She revealed: "My son kept telling me that the attic did not add up with the downstairs. He said there had to be hidden space. Low and behold, there was."

Adam Sandler says Netflix 'tried to intimidate me' as he teases next movie
Adam Sandler was asked about his next project following the release of Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to his 1996 comedy classic, which arrived on Netflix today (Friday, July 25) Adam Sandler has claimed that Netflix attempted to "intimidate" him, while dropping tantalising hints about his potential next project. During a recent appearance on The Dan Patrick Show, the Hollywood heavyweight was grilled about his upcoming work following the debut of Happy Gilmore 2, the sequel to Adam's beloved 1996 comedy, which landed on Netflix on Friday, July 25. This prompted the Big Daddy star to cryptically disclose that he'd recently faced off with Netflix executives, though Adam said he remained defiant when they attempted to "stare" him down. Adam revealed: "I wish I knew right now, pal. I was just with Netflix brass; they were trying to stare me down and intimidate me, and I didn't let it happen." He continued: "I said, 'You wait for this. Sandman's gonna tell you what's up soon enough. And who's Sandman?'I said, 'Me, me. C'mon, cut this s***." Dan then disclosed that the Little Nicky actor "let it slip" about his next film during a dinner in New York, to which Adam acknowledged that "there's talk of it", and he's "gotta write these damn things." He further resisted the questioning by redirecting attention to his latest release. When pressed, Adam told Dan "Don't," insisting that it was "Happy Gilmore 2 time." In the original '90s fan-favourite comedy, the Hollywood funnyman portrayed Happy, a hockey player who discovers he possesses a natural gift for golf and subsequently enters the PGA Tour in a bid to raise the funds needed to save his grandmother's house. The follow-up would prove to be brilliant news for fans. Indeed, one Reddit user posted on the site asking for Adam Sandler film recommendations ahead of its release. They wrote: "Please let me know your favourite Adam Sandler films I can watch tonight. I watched Billy Madison and Happy Gilmore last night and loved it." They continued: "Any suggestions, please—even if I've seen them. Not going to put a long list on here, just tell me your favourites so I can maybe put them on my list." As the recommendations poured in, one particular film stood out among the fan favourites: the 2006 comedy fantasy picture, Click, tells the story of workaholic Michael Newman, portrayed by Adam. He receives a universal remote control from Christopher Walken's character, Morty. However, this remote proves to be extraordinary, enabling him to pause, rewind, and fast-forward moments of his existence. Although it wasn't well received by critics, one Reddit user described the film as "underrated," while another dubbed it a "fun and enjoyable movie" that "leaves you sobbing." Alongside Click, other suggestions from enthusiasts included Uncut Gems, Spanglish, 50 First Dates, and Little Nicky, which features an appearance from the late Black Sabbath legend Ozzy Osbourne.
