Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) is left shocked by her guilt-ridden brother Oscar's (Pierre Moullier) behaviour in EastEnders next week.
As viewers of the BBC One soap know, Oscar foolishly attacked Patrick Trueman (Rudolph Walker) earlier in the week, just moments after he stole the legend's 6k bookies winnings.
He was desperate for the cash in a bid to pay off his thuggish former pal Fat Mike (Tai Hilferink), who was threatening the safety of his family.
Little did he realise, Lauren had returned early from maternity leave to flog a few cars and get an advance on her wages. By the time Oscar had returned clutching Patrick's money, she'd already paid Mike off.
It became apparent to him that he couldn't keep bringing drama to Lauren's doorstep, and he went to walk off into the night.
But not before she could discover the cash, and realise what had happened.
As the Trueman-Fox clan gathered around Patrick's bedside waiting for an update, the police arrived to take a witness statement from Howie Danes (Delroy Atkinson), who had found him lay on the floor.

He'd clearly remembered more than he was letting on, later blackmailing Oscar and Lauren for the stolen money. Lauren refuses to allow him to manipulate them, arguing that he had absolutely no evidence that her brother was responsible.
Howie was determined to prove them wrong, and presented them with some evidence – the balaclava and clothes that Oscar was wearing when he committed the burglary.
With nowhere left to turn, Lauren and Oscar handed over the money.
Just as they think their ordeal is over, the problem deepens next week.

Oscar is spotted chatting with Yolande Trueman (Angela Wynter), and Lauren demands that he keeps his distance.
He can't help but feel awful when overhearing her say that Patrick is now too frightened to leave the house, and offers to help carry her bags.
When they arrive at the house, Oscar strikes up an unlikely friendship with the pensioner and the two start playing dominoes. However, when Lauren learns of his newfound friendship, she's less than impressed.
Is Oscar playing with fire?

Scots police search for missing man who vanished wearing hospital 'moon boot'

Despite inquiries and CCTV checks, police have been unable to track him down. Cops are appealing for help to track down a man who has gone missing wearing a hospital issued 'moon boot'. ‌ Lee Reid, 49, has been reported missing from Aberdeen, and despite inquiries and CCTV checks, police have been unable to track him down. ‌ Lee was last seen around 8am on Friday, August 8, near Aberdeen city centre. ‌ He is described as white, 6ft2 in height, has short grey hair, and is wearing a black Nike top, black Adidas tracksuit bottoms, a black hospital issue 'moon boot' on one foot and a red trainer on the other foot. Inspector Hollie Murray from Police Scotland said: "Officers have been checking CCTV and with Lee's family and friends, as well as searching where he was last seen and where he frequents, but so far no one has heard from him nor seen him. "We are becoming increasingly concerned for his safety and wellbeing, and so would appeal to anyone who may have seen Lee or have information as to where he may be, to call police on 101 quoting incident number 0995 of Saturday, 9 August 2025." ‌ A moon boot is normally issued to control movement of the foot while a foot or ankle injury is healing. Adam Jordanowski, 54, was reported missing from the city of Chefchaouen on Wednesday, July 30. He has not been seen or heard from since. Adam, who is a Polish national, travelled from Edinburgh to Malaga in Spain on Friday, July 25, then onto Tangier Med before arriving in Chefchaouen. ‌ He planned to return to Scotland on Sunday, July 31 with a stopover in Barcelona. He checked in for the homebound flight to Edinburgh, however, it is feared Adam likely never left Morocco. Adam's loved ones say possible sightings of him could be on mountain trails and in cafes in Chefchaouen. Chefchaouen is a city nestled in the Rif Mountains of northwest Morocco. The area is known for being an excellent location for hiking, with the Rif Mountains surrounding the city offering numerous trails. ‌ While the area is generally considered safe for travel, the region has some areas where caution is advised, particularly regarding hiking. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'On Sunday, August 3, we received a report of a 52-year-old man missing from the Edinburgh area. 'He has not returned from a holiday abroad, and we are liaising with the relevant authorities and agencies to help trace him. 'Enquiries are ongoing.'

Nicola Sturgeon claims Alex Salmond 'may have leaked sexual misconduct inquiry details'

In an excerpt of her new book Frankly she notes that it crossed her mind Alex or someone acting on his behalf leaked the details. Alex Salmond may have leaked details about an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct against him, Nicola Sturgeon has claimed. ‌ In an excerpt of her new memoir, Frankly, published by The Times, Ms Sturgeon insisted she was not the one who had leaked the outcome of the Scottish government investigation into her predecessor as first minister to the press. ‌ She said it had crossed her mind that the leak may have come from Alex himself or a person acting on his behalf. ‌ She said such a move would be 'classic Alex' and that she had known him to make 'calculations' about damaging information in the past in a bid to get it out in a way which would allow him to control the narrative. Mr Salmond, who died last year, was investigated by the Scottish government in 2018 after two women made allegations of sexual misconduct against him. The findings of that investigation were leaked to The Daily Record on the day before they were due to be published, prompting Mr Salmond to launch a judicial review of the handling of the inquiry. ‌ The Scottish government initially defended the judicial review, before dropping its defence. But a separate police investigation resulted in a criminal trial in 2020 in which Mr Salmond was cleared of all 14 charges, being found not guilty on 12 counts while prosecutors withdrew another charge and one was found not proven. The next year Mr Salmond, who had been Scottish first minister between 2007 and 2014 as leader of the SNP, founded the pro-independence Alba Party. ‌ Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! In her memoir, Ms Sturgeon said Mr Salmond had informed her that he was being investigated in April 2018 and initially appeared to be 'upset and mortified' before he 'became cold'. She also said he 'effectively admitted the substance" of one complaint but said it was a 'misunderstanding''. ‌ Sturgeon said it was 'evident' Salmond wanted her to intervene in the investigation She added that her refusal to do so turned him against her and broke up their successful partnership. Ms Sturgeon also accused Mr Salmond of attempting to 'cast himself as the victim' and being prepared to 'traumatise, time and again' the women who had made accusations. ‌ Sturgeon also said Salmond believed the scandal to be a 'conspiracy' against him. In her book she says such a conspiracy would have required a number of women concocting false allegations, as well as collusion between those women, senior people in politics, the police and the Crown. She branded his 'conspiracy' the 'invention of a man who wasn't prepared to reflect honestly on his own conduct.' In other extracts, published on Friday, Ms Sturgeon discussed her arrest in 2023, describing it as 'mental torture', her miscarriage in 2010 and her sexuality. Nicola Sturgeon served as Scottish first minister between 2014 and 2023. Her memoir, Frankly, will be published on Thursday.

'I wondered what the hell was going on at first because I couldn't hear anything above the music. ‌ 'When I saw the ring, he didn't need to say anything, 'I just said 'yes' and we're both over the moon.' ‌ The Dundee couple, who have five children between them including their two-year-old daughter together, Mirryn, said they're still 'buzzing' after a night to remember. Shell said: 'We're both massive Oasis fans and we managed to book the tickets to see them in Edinburgh on my 40th birthday last year. 'We'd talked about getting engaged before, but usually when we were drunk. ‌ 'Dwayne really took me by surprise but his timing couldn't have been better. It was just perfect.' Dwayne, 38, added: 'I'd asked Shell's two older children a couple of weeks before if they'd be okay with me asking her to marry me. ‌ 'I knew the Oasis gig would be the perfect place to do it and I wanted to wait until our favourite song came on. 'I was on the edge of my seat with nerves until then. I got down on one knee and started singing the chorus 'now that your're mine'. 'It's just a song that means a lot to us. ‌ 'I didn't actually say the words 'will you marry me', but it was pretty obvious. 'Folk around us started getting their cameras out and taking photos of us. 'We've been through so much together and I wanted a proposal to be memorable. She means absolutely everything to me.'
