BBC Strictly rumoured contestant breaks silence weeks before line-up confirmed

Daily Mirror3 days ago
As the BBC prepares to announce the celebrity line-up for the 2025 series of Strictly Come Dancing, one rumoured star has addressed speculation that they're set to appear on the show
A potential participant for this year's Strictly Come Dancing has responded to rumours that a major change in the show's format could see them take to the dance floor.

The judging panel - Craig Revel Horwood, Motsi Mabuse, Shirley Ballas and Anton Du Beke - will be back to critique the performances of the new celebrity contestants and their professional dance partners.

Meanwhile, Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are set to continue their roles as hosts.

In April, the BBC revealed the roster of professional dancers for the 2025 series, with the announcement of the celebrity participants anticipated in the near future.
The upcoming series will see professional dancers Dianne Buswell, Nadiya Bychkova, Amy Dowden, Karen Hauer, Katya Jones, Neil Jones, Nikita Kuzmin, Gorka Marquez and Luba Mushtuk make a comeback to the dance floor.

They will be joined by Jowita Przystal, Johannes Radebe, Aljaz Skorjanec, Kai Widdrington, Nancy Xu, Carlos Gu, Lauren Oakley, Michelle Tsiakkas and Vito Coppola, according to Manchester Evening News.
Although the beloved dance programme won't return to BBC One until September, fans only have a few weeks left to wait until the celebrity line-up for the 2025 series is unveiled.
However, one name has already been thrown into the mix, hinting at a significant shift in the selection process for Strictly contestants.

Rumours are swirling that The Traitors champ Jake Brown might be waltzing onto Strictly, hinting at a possible shift in the show's stance on reality TV personalities.
Jake, who clinched victory on the hit gameshow alongside Leanne Quigley, has been taken aback by whispers of him donning his dancing shoes for the beloved ballroom competition.
In a playful Instagram clip, he voiced his astonishment: "What's this?'" and proceeded to read a social media snippet: "According to The Sun, Traitors series three winner is swapping the castle for the dance floor."
The video then showed Jake calling out to his wife, Shannon, before the pair were seen giving their best twirls to the iconic Strictly jingle.

It has become common for parents to buy gifts for teachers as a thank you for all they've done. But it seems Heidi's gifts didn't hit the mark. Taking to Instagram, she shared an image of the goodies she got for the teachers. In the image, it showed three wrapped sweets all themed around school. The first was a sugar cookie iced to look like a sheet of paper with an 'A' grade. She also picked up a sweet shaped as a pencil as well as a red apple. But her sweet gesture received an overwhelming negative response. One person said 'this irritates me to no end' and urged parents 'don't give teachers s**t like this' as they thought that cash or gift cards was a more appropriate reward. Someone else said the post had them 'riled up' because they'd once been the person who had agonised over a 'perfect, most thoughtful end-of-year gift'. Another parent said the best sort of gift was 'a thoughtful note from the student', and if it was going to be something material, it had better be a gift card or cash. Others said they thought Powell's gift of brightly coloured sweets had been chosen to 'look nice on Instagram'. A baker even chipped in to say that the 'cutesy sweets offerings' might look nice, but were probably not great to eat, saying they were pretty much 'inedible' and coated in 'a really cheap sugar product that can hold a lot of dye'. Quite a few teachers chipped in to say that food would probably end up being thrown away or deposited in the teacher's lounge and they said 'please no mugs' to parents or pupils on the lookout for gift ideas. Despite the negative comments, the mum praised teachers for their hard work over the year, proving it was the thought that counts.
