Broncos have 3 linebackers set to become free agents
Denver currently has four ILBs signed for the 2025 season, but none of them are locked-in starters. Alex Singleton would have been in that category if not for a season-ending torn ACL last fall. Singleton is now coming off a serious injury at 31 years old with a big salary cap hit. The Broncos should not count on him as a Day 1 starter.
Drew Sanders is a candidate to start this year if he takes a big leap in his development, but injuries have hindered him to this point in his career. Levelle Bailey and K.J. Cloyd figure to be special teams players, although Bailey could surprise this summer.
Meanwhile, on the free agency front, Denver has three players -- Cody Barton, Justin Strnad and Zach Cunningham -- scheduled to hit free agency next week. Barton and Strnad were starters for most of last season, but the Broncos would be wise to find upgrades at both positions.

NWSL expansion team, the Denver Summit, acquires its first player in a trade with the Pride
The Denver Summit have acquired forward Ally Watt in a trade with the Orlando Pride, making her the expansion club's first player. The Summit will start play in the National Women's Soccer League next season. As part of the deal announced Wednesday, Watt was loaned back to the Pride for the rest of this season. Watt, a 28-year-old native of Colorado Springs, has been with the Pride since 2022, making 73 appearances across all competitions with the club and scoring eight goals with six assists. She also had stints with the North Carolina Courage and the Seattle Reign. The announcement comes a week after the Summit announced that Nick Cushing would be the team's head coach. 'It's an incredible honor to be the first player in Denver Summit FC history,' Watt said in a statement Wednesday. 'As a Coloradan, this opportunity means so much to me, not just to play the game I love, but to represent the place that shaped who I am in front of the people that mean the most to me. I'm proud to help lay the foundation for something special alongside Nick Cushing, and I can't wait to be a part of building a team that this city can be proud of.' Watt was signed by Denver through the 2028 season. Orlando receives $75,000 in expansion allocation money and $35,500 in intra-league transfer funds as part of the trade. 'Ally has been an exceptional contributor to our organization, and when the opportunity arose to facilitate her return to Colorado — where she can help establish professional women's soccer in her home state — we knew it was the right decision,' said Pride sporting director Haley Carter. 'The loan structure through 2025 allows us to retain her valuable contributions on the field as we pursue our championship goals, while also enabling her to be part of Denver's inaugural NWSL season." Mike Sando and pundits rank all 32 NFL quarterbacks (see Bo Nix's rank)
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix is the 20th-ranked quarterback out of 32, according to a panel of 50 current and former NFL evaluators. Mike Sando of The Athletic broke down all 32 starters into five tiers; from Tier 1 ("A Tier 1 quarterback can carry his team each week. The team wins because of him. He expertly handles pure-passing situations. He has no real holes in his game,") to Tier 5 ("A Tier 5 quarterback is best suited as a backup"). Sando and 50 evaluators placed Nix squarely in the middle, in Tier 3. "A Tier 3 quarterback is a legitimate starter but needs a heavier running game and/or defensive component to win," said Sando. "A lower-volume dropback passing offense suits him best." In Nix's evaluation, he was labeled as the second-best quarterback in the 2024 draft class, behind only Jayden Daniels of the Washington Commanders. "I think (Nix's) biggest strength is he is very mobile and can keep his eyes down the field when he's moving," an unnamed offensive coach said in the article. "He made big plays on the move. That being said, I'm being generous with the (Tier 2 evaluation). Now you have people with tape on him. The one thing I know about Sean (Payton), he is no fool. He is going to get players in there. They should not have a shortage of playmakers." Nix similarly garnered praise from an unnamed defensive coordinator. "(Nix) looks pretty sharp, he knows where to go with the ball, he runs better than you think, he throws better than you think," said the defensive coordinator. "He looks like he is a good competitor who makes people around him better. That is what your quarterback has to do." In the rankings, Nix was behind quarterbacks including Josh Allen (No. 3) and Aaron Rodgers (No. 16) and ahead of fellow 2024 draft pick Drake Maye (No. 22) and former Bronco Russell Wilson (No. 26). With some new weapons and returning targets, Nix has the opportunity in 2025 to prove to the NFL landscape he has the moxie to be mentioned in the same breath as the top-tier quarterbacks. Hall of Famer Terrell Davis making a difference for kids on the golf course
Former Denver Broncos running back and Pro Football Hall of Famer Terrell Davis was the headliner at Bank of America's "Golf With Us" event on Monday in Ken Caryl, Colorado. "I'm a golfing fanatic," Davis told Broncos Wire. "I love to be able to give back to kids and do events like this. You know they have this event where Bank of America they're partnering with Golf With Us, and it's an initiative which is designed to make golf more accessible for kids throughout this country." One of the benefits from this event is for youth to learn life lessons -- even some life lessons that Davis learned on the gridiron. "A lot of stuff I learned on a football field, I apply in golf, which is really resiliency, man, because this game will test you," said Davis with a chuckle. "You gotta be able to bounce back; you gotta be able to kind of plan things out and then control what you can control. I kind of had that same mentality when I played in the league and it's kind of funny how the same things to apply in golf and not only golf, but in life." For Davis, this event was about providing access to a sport he loves, something that Davis didn't have growing up. "I think the biggest thing (with this event) is just access; growing up in the community that I grew up in, we didn't have access to a lot of things and you sort of have a mindset where it's not -- if you don't have a growth mindset, you don't have access to things that aren't in your daily life," said Davis. "No matter what I do, I try to expose my kids to places that they've never been to, events that they've never seen, sports they've never played. And then, obviously you know whether it's restaurants or golf courses, whatever it is. "I just feel like it makes you not only more well-rounded, but it gives you a bigger plan in terms of your ideas and seeing in life in a different way. For a lot of these kids, this will be the first time that they've ever golfed and probably didn't understand golf, what the golf courses were, probably don't understand how fun golf is. It's a sport for life. Anytime, no matter what age you are, what kind of handicap you have on the golf course, anybody can play."
