'Kaizer Chiefs are toothless, like me'
Goals from Evidence Makgopa and Relebohile Mofokeng were enough to see the Buccaneers complete a league double over their Soweto rivals. Amakhosi scored in the second minute through Makabi Lilepo; however, the Sea Robbers came back to earn a 2-1 victory over Chiefs.
Speaking on Soccer Beat podcast, Josephs expressed his disappointment in Orlando Pirates' early approach to the game, which allowed Kaizer Chiefs to score.
'We have had a rotten week for us as supporters and players,' said the former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper.
'We have had one of our worst weeks this season. After the four minutes we conceded, we never looked at ourselves, we just never looked at ourselves. All of a sudden, we just picked up our character and showed our old self again.'
'I said it on Twitter first, I said 'Kaizer Chiefs is like me, they are toothless, Mr Du Toit'. They never came to beat us, they were too scared to lose,' Josephs said.
The Buccaneers have now beaten Chiefs in five consecutive matches. The two teams will face each other again next weekend in the Nedbank Cup final.

'Monyane should start for Bafana ahead of van Rooyen and Mudau' ex-Chiefs star
Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi feels Amakhosi's new signing Thabiso Monyane is ready to feature for Bafana Bafana. The 25-year-old right-back has been in good form since joining Chiefs on a free transfer. Having struggled for game time at Orlando Pirates, the defender was released, together with Paseka Mako. Both players were signed by the Glamour Boys in June. With Deano van Rooyen injured and Khuliso Mudau not playing for Sundowns, Tsotetsi says this could be a perfect opportunity for Monyane to play for Bafana. 'He did not have a good season last season [at Pirates] and he has come to Chiefs looking fit, and I think he has come at the right time,' he said as quoted by Soccer Laduma . 'He is doing well in the first few matches for Chiefs, and you can see that he is gaining confidence. 'With Khuliso Mudau not playing and Thapelo Morena out injured and Van Rooyen only making his first appearance of the season recently, Monyane stands a good chance of being the first choice right back in the upcoming Bafana Bafana squad,' Tsotetsi added. 'You can see his confidence is growing game by game. He is doing well with the game time he is getting. I know coach Broos is a coach who gives players who are doing well a chance. 'So, I think he will be considered for the national team, and it will be good for him,' he concluded. Despite Tsotetsi's comments, Bafana Bafana head coach Hugo Broos did not include Monyane in his preliminary squad on Thursday. PSL Club 100: Shalulile and Nomvethe lead the goalscoring charts!
Mamelodi Sundowns striker Peter Shalulile has finally broken Siyabonga Nomvethe's long-standing PSL goalscoring record. It took the Namibia international just 10 years to equal Nomvethe's record, and he did that with just two teams. Shalulile first arrived in the PSL in 2015 when he signed for Highlands Park. He then joined Sundowns in 2020. Now, he has scored 129 goals in the South African topflight, the same number goals scored by Nomvethe during his playing days. It is worth mentioning that Nomvethe officially retired from football in September 2018, meaning his record stood for seven years. The South African takes a look at players – active and inactive – who scored 100 or more goals in the PSL era. Sundowns receive R30 million bid for rising teenager!
Mamelodi Sundowns have received an offer in the region of R30 million for rising teenager Kutlwano Letlhaku. Letlhaku, 19, is one of the future stars unleashed by Sundowns in 2024, and he has gone on to make 20 appearances. Now, according to reports an unnamed Portuguese club has shown interest in Letlhaku, and subsequently put in an offer. This was also confirmed by Letlhaku's agent Matthew Moore to Centre Circle , according to iDiski Times . Moore was blatant in his plea to say the younger players at Sundowns are not the ones who are going to help them win trophies now. He feels this is a good opportunity for players such as Letlhaku to be allowed to go overseas at this age in order to become better. Moore said from the outside, it looks like dreams of young players with intentions to leave Sundowns for Europe die easily. And he hopes this won't be the case with Letlhaku, adding that it would be a tragedy for the player and a missed opportunity for Sundowns. 'No doubt about it and that is a fantastic legacy that the Motsepe family have built with Sundowns. 'But equally, if you are a young player with aspirations to play in Europe, your dreams die at Sundowns. 'It certainly looks like that is the way it's going for Letlhaku and it will be a tragedy for the player – and a missed opportunity for Sundowns – if that happens.'
