This Morning fans left concerned after Dermot O'Leary hits head live on TV
This Morning presenter Dermot O'Leary suffered a minor injury live on air today as he presented along first time host, Olivia Attwood.
The awkward moment happened towards the end of the show, when the presenting duo attempted to try Katy Perry 's pre-show beauty ritual. Taking to Instagram, the Roar singer revealed that she plunged her face into ice water for 18 seconds.
Olivia and Dermot then went ahead and tried this trick, but unfortunately for Dermot, things went terribly wrong.
"Ready, 3, 2, 1," he said as the duo held their breath before plunging their heads into the ice water. However, a clanking sound was heard with faint laughter in the background - as Dermot had whacked his head on the rim of the blow.
Nonetheless, the former X-Factor host carried on like a champ, and after two seconds, the pair came up for air, as Olivia was left screaming: "OH MY GOD!"
"The bowl is so small!" Dermot exclaimed, as Olivia laughed: "Did you hit your head on the rim?"
"Yes!" he exclaimed while rubbing his head. "How can we not find bigger bowls than that?! That wasn't worth it!"
After the moment, concerned fans took to X, formerly known as Twitter, as one questioned: "Why was Dermot trying to dive into a bowl?" with a second writing: "We're gonna need a bigger bowl..."
"#DermotOleary needs to have a check after hitting his head on the rim of the bowl on #thismorning," a third wrote.
It was an eventful Friday morning for the This Morning team, as Olivia Attwood took to the sofa for her presenting debut. It comes after regular Friday and summer host Alison Hammond revealed that she'd be taking a break for a few weeks.
During Thursday's episode, the Brummy presenter gave Dermot a hug as she said: "See you in September, bye!" At the start of the show, Dermot revealed he was feeling down due to Alison's departure. "I'm sad because it's your last day for the summer! I'm sad because I won't see you next week," he said.
Alison replied, "Aw, not sad; be happy for me! Be happy." Dermot started handing Alison individual flowers from the set as she detailed her summer plans.
Olivia's role was announced a few weeks ago as she was interviewed by Ben and Cat about her ITV show, Price of Perfection. She commented, "I'm going to be doing a couple of shows in the summer, I'm very excited to be joining you guys.
"It's a huge honour. I've obviously grown up watching this show, and being part of the Daytime team with the Loose Women has been the best experience. This just feels like a very natural progression."

Actress shares major update on Madonna biopic after having to ‘convince' star
Julia Garner has revealed the Madonna biopic, in which she will play the music icon, is still in the works. She also reassured fans about the delay, saying that 'anything that's great…takes a long time'. The Ozark actress was reportedly cast as the Material Girl hitmaker in 2022 but months later, the project was placed on hold, and its fate has been up in the air ever since. However, Julia said in a new interview on Monday that it is 'supposed to still happen'. The Fantastic Four: First Steps star had been a fan of Madonna when she was growing up so knew she had to audition as soon as she heard the project was in the pipeline. She told the SmartLess podcast of her initial involvement with the biopic: 'It just came about… like I knew that they were doing a project, making a movie about it, and then I went out to audition. I kind of just wanted to see if I could do it.' The 31-year-old actress has no dance training, so she had to learn how to move and then show off her skills in front of Madonna herself – as well as sing with her – and 'convince' the 66-year-old that she could do both. Naturally, a very daunting situation – but the Inventing Anna star decided to channel the Vogue hitmaker during the nerve-wracking process. Explaining that she asked herself what Madonna would do, she added: 'Which is like convince you that she deserves to be in this room. And I owned it. I was like, 'You can take it or leave it, but if you leave it, if I leave, then that's on you.'' In July last year, Madonna revealed she was working on a new draft script for the biopic, which is expected to be titled Who's That Girl in a nod to the singer's 1987 movie and song of the same name. She will also be directing the movie. Madonna took to Instagram and posted a collection of photos of herself working on the script with the caption: 'I Need A-lot of Bandz to make this ……….. OKAY. (Story of my life) [sic].' The film was announced in 2020, and Oscar-winning Juno scribe Diablo Cody and Snow White's Erin Cressida Wilson were brought on to help the Like A Virgin hitmaker with the script and screenplay. However, in January 2023, it was revealed the film had been paused indefinitely at Universal Pictures. After the movie was shelved, Madonna went on her Celebration Tour in October 2023 to mark four decades in the music industry, but reportedly resumed work on the project once she got back home in June in the hopes she could finalise the script with Universal. An industry insider previously told The Sun newspaper's Bizarre column: 'Madonna has only just finished her tour but in her mind it is on to the next project and fulfilling her dream of getting the biopic made. 'Julia is still her lead actress and they have remained in touch for the past year, talking through ideas. They are committed to creating some magic.' The duo had also hyped up fans by being photographed together at a celebrity party in May that year, chowing down on chips, while Julia also appeared onstage during the tour with Madonna in December 2023. The Papa Don't Preach chart-topper had explained she wanted to both direct and write the movie because she wanted complete control over the project. She told Variety: 'I've had an extraordinary life, I must make an extraordinary film. 'It was also a pre-emptive strike because a lot of people were trying to make movies about me. Mostly misogynistic men. 'So I put my foot in the door and said, 'No one's going to tell my story, but me.'' More Trending Madonna would be following a line of musical biopics produced in recent years, including Queen film Bohemian Rhapsody, Sir Elton John movie Rocketman and the underperforming Better Man, based on the life of Robbie Williams. Garner is currently in cinemas as the Silver Surfer opposite Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Joseph Quinn, and Ebon Moss-Bachrach in the MCU's reboot of The Fantastic Four. It's enjoyed a strong opening, raking in $218million (£163.3m) already, surpassing the summer's other superhero flack in DC Studio's Superman from director James Gunn. Got a story? Axed Scots Gogglebox couple release heartfelt statement as fans left gutted over exit
Gogglebox stars Roisin Kelly and Joe Kelly have been brutally dumped from the show after three and half years. Gogglebox fan favourite couple Roisin Kelly and Joe Kyle have released a heartfelt statement after they were brutally dumped from the Channel 4 show. The beloved duo, who hail from Glasgow, shocked social media on Monday evening when they announced they had been axed from the programme after three and a half years despite being one of the most popular couples among Gogglebox fans. Roisin, who celebrated her 27th birthday earlier this week, took to her social media accounts on Instagram and TikTok to announce the sad news that she and Joe, 28, had not made the cut for season 26. The pair have released an emotional joint statement following their departure. It reads: "After three and a half years of sitting on the sofa, Channel 4 have decided it's time for Joe and I to stretch our legs and have not asked us back for season 26. Therefore we are leaving the Gogglebox family. We couldn't be more grateful to Studio Lambert for the opportunity, the experience has actually been so mad and we will miss watching tv with you all on Friday nights! "It's been an honour to represent Scotland as some of the first Scottish people on the show and prove we don't actually need subtitles." She continued: "We have made friends for life and after filming every week for years you have become like our family! We could not have asked for better people to work with and we will miss you immensely. "A huge thank you to everyone who has watched us, met us and supported us during this experience, it has for sure been a once in a lifetime opportunity. "Time to watch TV in silence for a bit and put down the popcorn. Miss you already, Roisin and Joe." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Channel 4 have now been advised by viewers that they have made a huge 'mistake' in axing the Scots couple who captured viewers hearts with their hilarious banter during their time on the show. Underneath Roisin's post on TikTok, one fan fumed: "That's a stupid decision by ch4/gogglebox! Sorry to hear this." A second chimed in: "Gutted! Their loss though." A third echoed: "Nooo you were a favourite in our house! Very stupid move from Channel 4." Roisin and Joe were the only Scottish cast members left on the show and fans have been quick to point out that Scotland is no longer being represented on the programme. One complained: "Aw man, this is s****. No Scottish voices on the show anymore! You were great." Another wrote: "Hate this! It was nice to have Scottish people and the West of Scotland sense of humour represented on TV, not worth watching anymore." A third added: "Oh no way! Typical because they are Scottish." Fans are hoping it won't be the last they'll see of Roisin and Joe on their screens and their Gogglebox axe means Roisin may now find the time to return to her podcast, Nags and Brags, which she co-hosts with pal and Clyde 1 breakfast show broadcaster, Cassi Gillespie. Nags and Brags covers a variety of subjects, from dating woes to fashion faux pas, with the show temporarily being put on hiatus while Roisin and Cassie juggled their other work commitments.
