'These boys lacks ambitions': Pirates legend slams departed stars
The Buccaneers released the two players a few weeks ago, and both have been linked with Soweto's rivals, the Kaizer Chiefs. Mako spent six seasons with the Buccaneers, earning over 100 caps and winning six trophies.
Speaking to Lebohang Mokoena on Soccer Beat , ex-Pirates goalkeeper felt players these days chase money and lack loyalty.
'The boys these days go where there's money,' Josephs said.
'I wanted to make a video the other day and say thanks to the boys for everything, but I saw where they went [Chiefs].
'I mean, these boys don't have ambitions after crossing the road like that. The team on the yellow side will be posting our players. There's no loyalty in this game anymore and pride for the badge anymore,' said the Pirates legend.
With the Buccaneers set to start their pre-season in the coming days, there's still no word on who the club have appointed as their new coach. Former Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Rulani Mokwena is reportedly the favourite for the job.
Josephs, however, has made his feelings known about the club potentially bringing back Mokwena. He said the Soweto-born coach caused friction in the team during his short tenure as coach in 2019.
Rulani is a free agent after parting ways with Wydad Casablanca. According to reports, the 38-year-old coach is in talks with the Pirates management.

Former Pirates and Zimbabwe striker Tendai Ndoro has died
Former Zimbabwe, Orlando Pirates, Ajax Cape Town striker Tendai Ndoro has reportedly died at the age of 40. Details surrounding his death remain unclear, but it is believed he was found unresponsive at his apartment in Johannesburg on Monday. Ndoro impressed at Zimbabwean side Chicken Inn and caught the eye of Mpumalanga Black Aces in the Premier Soccer League and later moved to Pirates, Ajax CT and Highlands Park.
