Netflix's Stranger Things releases official season 5 teaser trailer as fans go wild
Stranger Things has finally released a teaser trailer for its highly anticipated fifth and final season which is set to drop in three parts later this year. The trailer release comes amid the nine year anniversary of the show first premiering on Netflix, which has since gone on to become one of the streaming service's most popular series of all time.
Fans have now been waiting well over three years for the show to conclude with Stranger Things Season Four coming out in May 2022. The final three-part season will officially commence on November 26 with Volume 1 (episodes 1-4). Volume 2 (episodes 5-7) will air on Christmas Day on December 25 and the grand finale (episode 8) will drop on New Year's Eve on December 31.
The official synopsis teaser reads: "The final battle is looming – and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before. To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone – the full party – standing together, one last time.'
The jam packed teaser shows a first glimpse of the gang's efforts to close the portal to the Upside Down while Dustin grieves the loss of pal Eddie Munson who everyone in town believes was a murderer.
The fifth season of the show, created by the Duffer brothers, sees all the characters in the town of Hawkins, Indiana in 1987 while the community recovers from the Rifts that killed multiple people and left dozens of others missing.
The gang are more determined than ever to find and kill Vecna once and for all.

While Vecna is still missing, things are made even more complicated when Hawkins is put under military quarantine by the government, who are still trying to track down the supernatural Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown.
While Eleven is forced into hiding, Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, is left dreading the anniversary of his disappearance into the Upside Down as the date approaches.
The Stranger Things Instagram account dropped the trailer on their page yesterday evening with the caption: "Every battle has led to this. The Stranger Things 5 teaser is HERE!"
Fans raced to the comments to share their thoughts as one wrote: "Protect Steve! I repeat, PROTECT STEVE!!!!"
A third penned: "I am at a loss for words… my body is overwhelmed. I can't wait."
A fourth remarked: "I just know this is gonna be gut wrenching."
Another emotional fan wrote: "Started highschool with this show and graduating college with it. This is gonna HIT."
One fan, who was clearly still annoyed about how long it has taken to come out, said: "Is it called stranger things 5 cause it took 5 years to come out."
Stranger Things 5's first volume will drop on Netflix on November 26.

Winona Ryder says she still plays poker with Al Pacino
Ryder, 53, is best known for starring in Tim Burton's 1988 movie Beetlejuice and its 2024 sequel, Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, along with playing Joyce Byers in the hit Netflix series Stranger Things. She worked with The Godfather star Pacino, 85, in the films Simone (2002) and Looking For Richard (1996), adding that she was 'actively' in love with him. Ryder, who fronts the September issue of ELLE UK, told the magazine: 'I was absolutely in love with Al Pacino when I was working with him. 'We were doing that workshop for Richard III, which I didn't know was gonna be a movie. I was actively in love with him. 'He was obsessed with coffee, and he would take me all over New York – like, to the weirdest places – to try different coffees. I'm 22, or whatever. Finally, he's dropping me off wherever I'm staying, and I'm like, 'I love you, you know. I really am completely in love with you.' And he was like: 'Aw, honey, noooo.' 'Then, like 10 years later, I meet his girlfriend, who's younger than me. 'I still play poker with him sometimes. It's the best.' With a career spanning decades, Ryder credits actress Laura Dern for helping her navigate the industry and taking her under her wing. She said: 'I don't think I'd be here without her. I met her on my first screen test for Lucas – I didn't know what a screen test was. 'Laura was there to read for the older girl, and she talked me through it, 'cause I didn't know what the f*** was going on. 'She befriended me. I was literally 12 and – nobody knows this – she took me under her wing into my twenties. That relationship got me through.' She is now passing on her own wisdom to the younger cast members on the series Stranger Things. Ryder said: 'I've been trying to sort of change this narrative with the kids, because they have it drilled into them that they're so lucky and, you know, that this show 'made' them. 'I'm like: 'No. Netflix is so lucky. You guys are the special ones. Like, you guys are magic.'' Ryder is also known for starring in films including Heathers, Edward Scissorhands and Little Women. The September issue of ELLE UK is on sale from 31 July.

Stranger Things actress Winona Ryder reveals moment she confessed love for her A-list co-star
Winona Ryder has confessed she once proclaimed her love for Al Pacino while working alongside him, but her advances were pushed back by the Hollywood megastar in an awkward moment. Winona Ryder has revealed how she fell for Hollywood icon Al Pacino when they worked together - but he rejected her advances. The pair starred in Richard III - Finding Richard together in 1996, where they portrayed love interests. "I was absolutely in love with Al Pacino when I was working with him," Winona told Elle UK. Continuing that the actor - who is over three decades her senior - didn't quite feel the same way, she explained, "I was actively in love with him. He was obsessed with coffee, and he would take me all over New York – like, to the weirdest places – to try different coffees. I'm 22, or whatever. "Finally, he's dropping me off wherever I'm staying, and I'm like, 'I love you, you know. I really am completely in love with you.'' And he was like 'Aw, honey, noooo.' Then, like 10 years later, I met his girlfriend, who's younger than me.' While they may not have been a romantic match, Winona says the friendship has stood the test of time, 'I still play poker with him sometimes. It's the best." Al Pacino's last public girlfriend was Noor Alfallah, who is over 50 years his junior. The couple began dating in 2022 and welcomed a son, Roman, the following year. However, in October last year, it was reported they had parted ways. The actor's romantic history includes high-profile relationships with stars like Diane Keaton, Beverly D'Angelo, and Kathleen Quinlan. Alongside his son Roman, he is a father to three other children; daughter Julie and twins Anton and Olivia with actress Beverly D'Angelo. Now over 40 years into the showbusiness industry, Stranger Things actress Winona also opened up about the pressure to look young. "I started my career as the youngest, and I always wanted to be older. I always knew I looked young. But I also knew that when I started ageing, it was gonna happen fast,' she said. "They'll say, 'Just relax your forehead. Relax.' I'm trying to be a great actor, and they're saying that over and over. It's nice that people are talking about how it's OK to age, but there's still enormous pressure. Every role I get is for a mother, you know? "My career has definitely shifted." Talking of the cosmetic surgery pressures, Winona admitted, 'I don't mind it. But what's weird is when you're surrounded by young women getting weird s*** done.' The September issue of ELLE UK is on sale from 31 July.
