Stranger Things season five will drop in three parts later this year after over three years of waiting for the grand finale
Stranger Things has finally released a teaser trailer for its highly anticipated fifth and final season which is set to drop in three parts later this year. The trailer release comes amid the nine year anniversary of the show first premiering on Netflix, which has since gone on to become one of the streaming service's most popular series of all time.

Fans have now been waiting well over three years for the show to conclude with Stranger Things Season Four coming out in May 2022. The final three-part season will officially commence on November 26 with Volume 1 (episodes 1-4). Volume 2 (episodes 5-7) will air on Christmas Day on December 25 and the grand finale (episode 8) will drop on New Year's Eve on December 31.

The official synopsis teaser reads: "The final battle is looming – and with it, a darkness more powerful and more deadly than anything they've faced before. To end this nightmare, they'll need everyone – the full party – standing together, one last time.'

The jam packed teaser shows a first glimpse of the gang's efforts to close the portal to the Upside Down while Dustin grieves the loss of pal Eddie Munson who everyone in town believes was a murderer.
The fifth season of the show, created by the Duffer brothers, sees all the characters in the town of Hawkins, Indiana in 1987 while the community recovers from the Rifts that killed multiple people and left dozens of others missing.

The gang are more determined than ever to find and kill Vecna once and for all.

While Vecna is still missing, things are made even more complicated when Hawkins is put under military quarantine by the government, who are still trying to track down the supernatural Eleven, played by Millie Bobby Brown.

While Eleven is forced into hiding, Will Byers, played by Noah Schnapp, is left dreading the anniversary of his disappearance into the Upside Down as the date approaches.
The Stranger Things Instagram account dropped the trailer on their page yesterday evening with the caption: "Every battle has led to this. The Stranger Things 5 teaser is HERE!"

Fans raced to the comments to share their thoughts as one wrote: "Protect Steve! I repeat, PROTECT STEVE!!!!"
A third penned: "I am at a loss for words… my body is overwhelmed. I can't wait."

A fourth remarked: "I just know this is gonna be gut wrenching."
Another emotional fan wrote: "Started highschool with this show and graduating college with it. This is gonna HIT."
One fan, who was clearly still annoyed about how long it has taken to come out, said: "Is it called stranger things 5 cause it took 5 years to come out."
Stranger Things 5's first volume will drop on Netflix on November 26.

Angry mum leaves Butlin's after 'beds wet' and daughter had 'poo on hands'

Mum Jasmine took to TikTok to share her disappointment with the accommodation at the Skegness holiday park. Butlin's has apologised after a family checked in to a "grimy" and "damp" room which was "in need of a massive deep clean". ‌ Mum Jasmine took to TikTok to share her disappointment with the accommodation at the Skegness holiday park. ‌ Sharing clips of the filthy room with her 19,000 followers, she said: "I could make a 10-minute video on all of the issues in here but here's some of them." ‌ Jasmine, who went on to give a tour of the room, added: "Even walking up to the room I felt grimy. This is the Butlin's comfort room. This is my sign to not blindly book something hahaha." As reported by the Mirro r, she said they couldn't stand to sleep in the room for more than one night as she showed dirt throughout, including in the shower and the bin. ‌ In her voiceover, Jasmine said: "I was meant to book the apartment but I didn't realise. When I first walked in there and I saw there's only two rooms and one bathroom in the middle, I thought, 'Where's the rest of it?'. "I am going to emphasise that was not Butlin's fault at all though to be fair - it was my fault. So anyway I don't know if the videos can do it justice because the smell when I walked in there was just absolutely wild. "This isn't the cleaner's fault or anything like that - it's the turnover rate is the issue. These rooms need massive deep cleans because a quick once over is not going to help." ‌ "I didn't even want to shower in there - in fact, I didn't shower in there. I ended up going to the swimming pools to have a shower. "We spent one night in this room and the beds were so damp - my daughter even woke up asking why the bed was so wet. "I can't explain the smell. I know I keep saying it but it was horrific. The mould was over the windows, there were cobwebs up the walls... This was a dead bug on our bed and then our daughter got poo on her hand walking out and I was like 'nah, that's it, 100% I am going.' ‌ "The stuff kids can do here is amazing though - I will not fault Butlins for that. It is just a shame about the room." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community! Get the latest news sent straight to your messages by joining our WhatsApp community today. A spokesperson for the holiday park said: 'We're sorry and disappointed to see the cleanliness issues the guest experienced with their accommodation. This certainly isn't the high standards we expect our guests to receive when they holiday with us. We carried out a full reclean and offered a gesture of goodwill which was accepted.' ‌ Others shared similar experiences in the comments, with one person writing: "This looks so much cleaner than our room [laughing emoji]." Another person said: "Skegness I had the most horrible room haven't ever gone back. It was a hot year window broke couldn't open it, bedding didn't get changed stuff left under the bed etc was horrible." However, another visitor insisted they had only ever had positive experiences at the holiday park, writing: "Which Butlin's is this?? We've always been to skeg one and never had a room like this. That's grim."

Nostalgic 90s sequel that 'ruined my Friday night' soars to number 1 on Netflix

To no one's surprise, the highly anticipated sequel to an Adam Sandler movie comedy – coming 29 years after the original – has soared straight to number one on Netflix upon its release. As part of Sandler's mega deal with the streamer, reportedly worth $250million (£186m) and renewed multiple times, he has re-visited popular territory with Happy Gilmore 2. The 1996 film followed the titular character, played by Sandler, a failed ice hockey player trying to raise enough money to stop the foreclosure of his grandmother's house, who fortuitously discovers he can hit long shots in golf and gains a fan following. But just as the former Saturday Night Live actor has often split opinion, among the rave reviews from die-hard fans are many decrying the quality of this new 'zero-star' sequel, branding it 'tripe' and 'a terrible waste of time'. Jaja B even admitted in their reaction on Rotten Tomatoes: 'I think this is my last/final break-up with a once great Adam Sandler.' In the follow-up film, a terrible stroke of bad luck puts golf's one-time bad boy back on the back foot and in desperate need of a comeback – which is offered to him by Maxi Energy Drink CEO Frank Manatee (Benny Safdie), who is sponsoring a new golfing league of which he wants Happy to be the star. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video 'I hate to do this… but this was 0/10 stars. Of If I could've given 0, I would have. It was cameo central and cheap, no effort jokes. Don't meet your heroes,' wrote Sean M in his reaction on the review aggregator site. Stephen M agreed, calling it 'pointless' and 'awful', although it does currently hold a fresh 74% audience rating at the time of publication. 'Sandler is rinsing that Netflix money and producing tripe. No funny moments at all. Happy Gilmore was great, but this one is the worst movie I've watched,' he complained. 'The movie left a sour taste in my mouth [and] was a terrible waste of time,' added Austin C while Rog S moaned: 'This movie was a flaming pile of garbage.' Another fan echoed these thoughts, branding Happy Gilmore 2 'by far the worst Adam Sandler movie ever produced', despite calling the star 'one of my all-time faves'. 'I'm shocked that so many personalities read this script and attached their names to the film. This ruined my Friday night,' they added. Happy Gilmore 2 does boast an impressive cast, welcoming back the likes of Julie Bowen, Christopher McDonald, original director Dennis Dugan and Ben Stiller in his previous role as Hal from both Happy Gilmore and Hubie Halloween. The movie also features pro-golfer John Daly as a fictionalised version of himself, and multiple members of Sandler's immediate family, including daughter Sunny, alongside Safdie, Bad Bunny and a swathe of cameos from the likes of Haley Joel Osment, Steve Buscemi, Post Malone, Kid Cudi, Eminem, Travis Kelce, Rob Schneider and Oliver Hudson – and a whole host of professional golf stars as themselves. Other viewers had more fun with the film though and urged people not to see it as high art, but purely entertainment. 'Is this going to win Oscars? No more than the first did… It was a ride of fan service with familiar faves and call backs in nearly every scene, and it works for what it is,' insisted Marcus J, while Bailey L added: 'It is just as it intended: Stupid, yet funny as hell. The cameos alone make this movie perfect. It's just fun to watch if you give in.' 'To see Adam come back and make a movie filled with cameo appearances and pay homage to those who passed away almost brings a tear to my eye. This movie is great had me laughing the entire time and it filled me with a sense of nostalgia I haven't felt in a while,' shared Johnny G. Original Happy Gilmore cast members who died in the intervening years included Carl Weathers, who played Happy's mentor, Frances Bay, who was Grandma Gilmore, Richard Kiel and Joe Flaherty. Meanwhile Liana O described it as the 'best comedy I've seen in years' while Syah Izani K commented: 'I laughed from the beginning to the end of the movie.' 'This is just as good as the first one,' enthused Joshua C in his reaction. 'It brought back the golden age of comedy movies. I haven't even finished it, just got to Stephen Smith in it and couldn't even wait to write a review.' More Trending Which could explain the film's positive rating so far, alongside Sandler's passionate fans. Happy Gilmore 2 has received mixed to negative reactions from critics, with Empire saying it 'never ascends higher than 'hit-and-miss'' but has 'sheer goofy, golf-y geniality' in a three-star review. But The Daily Beast called it potentially 'the worst sequel of all time' and observed: 'Arguably the least inspired film in the actor's canon, if not all of movie history.' Happy Gilmore 2 is streaming exclusively on Netflix now. Got a story?
