Harish slams Revanth's Nallamala Declaration
Hyderabad: BRS senior leader T Harish Rao on Monday came down heavily on Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for turning declarations into mere political spectacles devoid of commitment and credibility.
The BRS leader said, 'Farmer Declaration was shelved, BC Declaration vanished into thin air, and now the Nallamala Declaration has taken the stage. What remains common is loud declarations, but no dedication to implement them. Grand on the surface, hollow at the core – these declarations are turning into deceptive distractions.'
Harish Rao questioned the intent behind the Nallamala Declaration, especially when the same government arrested innocent Chenchu tribal youth who came to meet the Chief Minister. 'Revanth Reddy, who claims to be a child of Nallamala, has exposed his authoritarian attitude by arresting those very children of the forest. Is it governance to arrest and detain tribal leaders in advance and then announce declarations in their name?' he asked. He criticised the CM's speech as being full of aggression and self-praise but lacking substance and context. 'What people heard once again was his trademark hollow rhetoric – nothing new, nothing relevant,' he said.

Prabhakar holds ‘Meet your Minister' grievance redressal prog
Hyderabad: The Transport Minister Ponnam Prabhakar administered the first grievance redressal programme 'Meet your Minister' after a gap of over four months on Wednesday. It was resumed following directions from AICC State in-charge Meenakshi Natarajan. Given the long gap (the second this year), after R&B and Cinematography Minister Komatireddy Venkat Reddy conducted one on January 29, the latest programme received a fairly modest number of grievances. Numbering around 100, mostly land disputes, issues of pensioners, housing sites, ration cards, free power, welfare schemes and public transport users seeking availability of buses submitted their representations, even as different leaders including Meenakshi Natarajan and PCC president B Mahesh Kumar Goud accompanied the Minister for some time. Speaking to media persons earlier, the Transport Minister felt that the issue of MLC K Kavitha was like a 'storm in a tea cup'. Describing the entire episode as KCR's family drama, Ponnam described that the entire commotion was for political survival. He said that the entire family was attempting to get people's attention as part of the drama. The Minister said that he was not so keen about the happenings within KCR's family and was in no way concerned about the developments within BRS. He termed the entire episode as an internal political crisis, which should be resolved by the head of the party. He further asked the public and Congress party workers in general and media in particular to keep away from what was happening within BRS.

BRS leaders skip Kavitha's dharna
Hyderabad: Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders stayed away from attending the dharna organised by MLC Kalvakuntla Kavitha against issuing notices to party supremo and her father K Chandrashekar Rao. A few loyalists and followers of Kavitha only were present in the protest on Wednesday at Dharna Chowk in Hyderabad. The Telangana Jagruti leader took a swipe at Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy for maintaining silence on the construction of projects on river Godavari by the Andhra Pradesh government. She demanded the Chief Minister to lodge a complaint with the Union government against AP for constructing the Banakacharla project on Godavari. Kavitha questioned Revanth Reddy for maintaining silence on his AP counterpart N Chandrababu Naidu's quick moves to complete the Banakacharla project without water allocations and permissions. She demanded the CM to bring the issue to the notice of Apex Council and Union Jal Shakti ministry and protect the interests of the Telangana state. The BRS rebel leader also criticised Union Ministers G Kishan Reddy and Bandi Sanjay for not opposing the Banakacharla project which she says is detrimental to Telangana's interests. Explaining the reasons for taking up the Kaleshwaram project by the previous BRS government, Kavitha said that the biggest lift scheme in the country provided a facility to utilise 140 tmcft of Godavari waters. The Pranahita–Chevella project envisaged by the Congress government in the erstwhile united Andhra Pradesh could only draw 16 tmcft of water. Announcing that she will launch a movement demanding to allocate more water for Telangana, Kavitha said that the government owed the responsibility of the repairs of the damaged barrages, including Medigadda, without any delay. Only the Kaleshwaram project will fetch the water needs of Telangana in the future, she said, appealing to BJP MP Eatala Rajendar to come forward and protect the state's interests in water allocations and utilisation.

Sops for govt staff on Cabinet agenda
Hyderabad: The state Cabinet, scheduled to meet on Thursday, is expected to take some crucial decisions, including sops for the government employees, recruitment for pending vacancies in government jobs and women empowerment. It will also deliberate on the schedule for the launch of the Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme aimed at transforming unemployed youth into entrepreneurs. The meeting will also discuss extensively the progress of the implementation of the flagship welfare schemes launched by the ministers recently. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy has already sought a report on the implementation of the important schemes from the ministers. The progress of the works under Indiramma Indlu (housing) scheme, fine rice distribution at ration shops, implementation of the Bhu Bharati Act, distribution of solar pump sets to tribal farmers and the status of the verification of the applications received from the youth to provide financial assistance under Rajiv Yuva Vikasam scheme will be reviewed in the Cabinet meeting. The Chief Minister is of the view that it is the responsibility of the ministers concerned to successfully implement the flagship schemes and reports submitted by them will be helpful in speeding up the implementation process. Official sources said the Cabinet will also take an important decision on the implementation of the recommendations made by the National Dam Safety Authority (NDSA) on the Medigadda and other barrages of the Kaleshwaram Lift Irrigation Project. It will also focus on the constitution of other official committees with irrigation experts to implement the recommendations made by the dam safety authority. The development of the proposed Future City, Regional Ring Road (RRR) and new system for permits to construct buildings in the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) limits were also included in the agenda of the Cabinet meeting. Sources said the Chief Minister would present a report on the financial challenges and seek the suggestions of his Cabinet colleagues to tide over the crisis. He would also ask the ministers to strive hard to achieve the revenue targets in their respective departments. The Cabinet Sub-Committee on resource mobilization already prepared a report on how to increase revenues by introducing a slew of reforms without putting an extra tax burden on the people in the current financial year.
