Cat food brand, Whiskas, has officially launched its new campaign, 'No Fuss Just Whiskas Food,' featuring actor and cat parent,
Sanya Malhotra
. The campaign, a blend of humor and heart, aims to resonate with cat owners nationwide by highlighting the common struggles of mealtime and presenting a simple, satisfying solution: the
Whiskas Wet Cat Food
range.
The "No Fuss Just Whiskas Food" campaign directly addresses mealtime dilemmas, striving for enjoyable experiences for both pets and their owners. A digital film, set in a vibrant kitchen, showcases Sanya Malhotra humorously auditioning a chef attempting to impress her and, more importantly, her discerning cat. From "Nawabi Fish Rice" to classic "Khichdi," each elaborate dish is met with a firm "Rejected!" from Malhotra. The turning point arrives when the chef, recognizing the cat as the true decision-maker, introduces Whiskas
Wet Cat Food
. The film comically tells that even the most particular cats can't resist Whiskas. Through its playful tone and relatable pet-parent scenarios, the campaign reinforces the brand's commitment to taste, nutrition, and satisfaction in every bite.
Sanya Malhotra's involvement extends beyond her role as the campaign's face; she is a passionate and experienced cat parent herself. Known for sharing genuine moments with her beloved feline on social media, Malhotra brings authenticity and warmth to the initiative. Her real-life encounters with mealtime fussiness make her an ideal voice for Whiskas's message of taste, trust, and nutrition.
"As a cat parent, I understand how challenging mealtimes can be," shared Sanya Malhotra. "The cat in the film is expressive and very particular, just like my cat at home. This campaign is personal because it mirrors our real-life experience."
Ayesha Huda, chief marketing officer, Mars
Pet Nutrition
India, emphasised the campaign's significance. "India remains one of the world's lowest pet food adoption markets, with less than 10 per cent of cat parents opting for scientifically formulated pet food," stated Huda. "This is concerning because cats have specific dietary requirements that typically cannot be met by homemade food or generic diets. Through our latest digital film featuring Sanya Malhotra, we've taken a relatable yet impactful route to highlight just how discerning cats can be when it comes to food and underscoring the importance of healthy, wholesome and delicious meals for our beloved pets.'
India is currently experiencing a notable rise in cat ownership, with over 70% of new kitten owners being first-time pet parents. Despite this surge, the country lags globally in meeting the specific nutritional requirements of its pet population.

Comedy has taken a back seat for now: Vandana Pathak

Vandana Pathak, famed for her comedic roles in shows like Khichdi, returns to television after a six-year break with Tumm Se Tumm Tak. After a six-year hiatus from television, Vandana Pathak is back on the small screen with Tumm Se Tumm Tak. The actress, who became a household name with popular shows like Khichdi and Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka, says she was happy to get back to television because she found the role interesting. Talking to Mumbai Mirror about her return, she says, 'My last show was Manmohini in 2019 with the same production house. It was a deliberate break that I took because my father-in-law wasn't well. I was very close to him and wanted to be with him. Unfortunately, he passed away, and after that, I didn't feel like getting back to work immediately.' The break led her towards the regional cinema. 'I got a Gujarati film offer (Golkeri), which did well. I started getting more Gujarati offers, which I took up. People are really enjoying regional content right now.' Known primarily for her comic timing, especially as Jayshree in Khichdi, the actress is now exploring more intense roles. She says, 'I have been offered a lot of comedy roles because of Khichdi, but I want to do something different now. Comedy has taken a back seat. I'm currently focused on other genres.' She adds, 'People still call me Jayshree, and I'm okay with it. That show gave me a lot. Another Khichdi film is in the pipeline. The writers are working on it, and I'm in touch with the cast. Apart from Khichdi, a show that is close to my heart is Ek Mahal Ho Sapno Ka — nothing like that has been written again.'

Sanya Malhotra Calls Supreme Court Stray Dog Order ‘Inhumane'

Bollywood celebrities unite to oppose the Supreme Court's stray dog removal order, calling it cruel and urging humane solutions. The recent Supreme Court ruling ordering the removal of all stray dogs from Delhi-NCR streets has evoked fierce criticism from Bollywood stars and animal enthusiasts alike. In a ruling made on August 11, the top court ordered authorities to catch the animals and put them in shelters based on increasing dog attack cases and a worrying spike in rabies cases. The ruling is being blasted as an overreach that punishes an entire class of chickens instead of addressing the underlying problems in the scenario. Sanya Malhotra has condemned the act, calling it a deeply inhumane procedure. 'We Call It a Heartbeat" 'We Call It a Heartbeat" Actress Sanya Malhotra posted an emotional Instagram post, 'They call it a menace. We call it a heartbeat." She explained stray dogs as a part of the soul of the city, remembering how they sit outside tea stalls for biscuits, protect shops at night, and wag their tails on children's return from school. She called on the public to reject the notion of mass confinement as, 'Yes, there are issues — bites, safety issues — but caging a whole community of animals is not a solution, it's an erasure." 'A Death Sentence for All Dogs" Other Bollywood personalities shared their view. John Abraham, Varun Dhawan, and Janhvi Kapoor publicly criticised the order as a 'death sentence for all dogs". They maintained that confining stray dogs to cages denies them their liberty and their home environment, making them unhappy and likely to suffer. Humane Alternatives Proposed Animal welfare activists have cited that large-scale sterilisation drives, frequent vaccination drives, and community feeding centres present more humane and long-term solutions to controlling the stray population. Malhotra's post echoed this, 'The real fix? Large-scale sterilisation programs, regular vaccination drives, community feeding zones, and adoption campaigns. Not punishment. Not imprisonment." A Larger Reflection on Society The controversy has also become an extended contemplation on compassion and social conscience. 'A society which can't protect its voiceless is a society losing its soul," Malhotra cautioned. 'Today it's the dogs. Tomorrow… who will it be?" The animal rights supporters have also backed the agitation and urged people to come out onto the streets so that they can request the Supreme Court for a review. As the outrage grows, so does the growing chasm between public safety needs and animal welfare values, with members of the legislature feeling more compelled to resolve this situation in a just, humane way. Sanya Malhotra Celebrates Kathal, Jawan, Sam Bahadur's Triumph At National Awards: ‘It's Rare'

Sanya Malhotra reacted to her films Kathal, Jawan and Sam Baadur winning big at National Film Awards, and said that the achievement hasn't really sunk in yet. Bollywood actress Sanya Malhotra is over the moon, as three of her films—Jawan, Kathal, and Sam Bahadur—have won top awards at the 71st National Film Awards. For Sanya Malhotra, this accomplishment is both overwhelming and validating. While Kathal received the award for Best Hindi Feature Film, Shah Rukh Khan was named Best Actor for Jawan, and Sam Bahadur garnered multiple honours, including Best Feature Film Promoting National, Social, and Environmental Values, Best Makeup, and Best Costume Design. Speaking with Hindustan Times, Sanya Malhotra expressed her delight at learning all three films were honoured. She reflected on the importance of trusting her instincts as an actor, noting that one cannot always predict a project's reception and must rely on what excites and moves them. 'You know when I found out that all three were being honoured with National Awards I had to take a moment. It's rare, and I don't take it for granted at all. It really makes me reflect on how important it is to trust your gut. As an actor, you don't always know how a project will be received, you just go by what moves you, what excites you. And this has just reaffirmed that instinct for me in the most beautiful way," she said. Leading Kathal holds a special place for Sanya Malhotra. She described the experience as surreal and felt proud of the team's work on a film that began as an unusual, quirky story and achieved significant recognition. 'Honestly it still hasn't sunk in fully. Kathal winning the National Award for Best Hindi Feature Film is just… surreal. To be the face of a film like this that started as such an unusual, quirky story and to see it reach this kind of recognition, it's overwhelming. I'm so proud of the entire team, and I feel incredibly grateful to have been a part of this journey," she shared. Considering the significance of awards in her career, Malhotra acknowledged that while awards do not define an artist's worth, they bring validation and joy, especially when they are a genuine appreciation of one's work. 'The National Award is just… different. It holds a very special place. It feels like the country acknowledging your work and that's a big, big deal. It's emotional. It's humbling," she expressed. Sanya Malhotra will next be seen in Sunny Sanskari Ki Tulsi Kumari and Bandar, which will premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) 2025, along with another global action-comedy film set to start filming later this year.
