iGA facilitates access to ID card and Birth Certificate services via MyGov app
To enhance the accessibility to its eServices for citizens and residents, and to ensure seamless transactions, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) has provided the ID card & Birth Certificate eServices through its unified 'MyGov' app in its first phase. This app was recently launched by General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Interior and Chairman of the Ministerial Committee for Information and Communication Technology.
Duaa Sultan Mohammed, Deputy Chief Executive for Statistics and Population Registry at the iGA, emphasised that the availability of these highly utilized services in the app is a strategic move aimed at reinforcing digital transformation and facilitating easy access to government services for citizens and residents in Bahrain via a unified digital platform.
She pointed out that the ID card services provided in the first phase of the 'MyGov' app include issuing and renewing ID cards, issuing replacement cards for lost and damaged IDs, and tracking ID card application status. These services are remarked one of the most used services with an annual average that exceeds 700,000 transactions, both in-person and online. Having these services, for the first time, through a unified app, users can now access them more easily and complete their transactions seamlessly. Additionally, the app allows users to view their birth certificates, and the ID cards of their children under 18, as well as ID cards for domestic workers.
The Deputy Chief highlighted that iGA will continue expanding the range of services available on the MyGov app in future phases in efforts to enhancing the ID card system, making services more accessible while ensuring compliance with international best practices in customer service and user experience.
MyGov app is one of Bahrain's innovative digital projects, providing citizens and residents with secure, unified access to a variety of government services. The app is linked to the upgraded eKey 2.0 system, which features biometric authentication (face ID), enhancing security and user experience. The first phase of the app includes 41 government services from nine different government entities. It also offers features such as displaying official documents like ID cards, passports, and birth certificates, government notifications, and more.
Citizens and residents can download 'MyGov' app from the Bahrain eGovernment App Store at bahrain.bh/apps. For inquiries or further information, users can contact the Government Services Call Center at 80008001 or submit suggestions, inquiries, and feedback via the National Suggestions & Complaints System (Tawasul) or the Tawasul app.

iGA Conducts Introductory Workshops for the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025
In line with the official launch of the 13th edition of the eGovernment Excellence Award 2025, the Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) organized two virtual introductory workshops in Arabic and English languages, targeting participants from public & Private sector organizations, Non-government organizations (NGOs) and individuals. The iGA also emphasized that the workshops are part of iGA's awareness campaign aimed at encouraging participation and the submission of innovative digital initiatives and projects through an interactive platform for dialogue, questions, and knowledge exchange. Sessions covered this year's award categories, including Public and Private Sector Category: Best Website, Best Practice in eParticipation, Best Integrated eServices, Best Work Environment for Digital Innovation, Best Project for Digital Transformation, Best Utilization of Artificial Intelligence (AI), Best Applications for Smart Devices (dedicated to private sector & NGOs), and a category for individuals for Best Digital Initiative, which encourages proposals for outstanding digital initiatives or ideas. Bahrain Showcases Pioneering Digital Transformation to Omani Delegation
The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) welcomed an official delegation from Oman's Foreign Ministry, led by Eng. Khalid bin Ghulam Al Zadjali, Head of the Digital Transformation Office. iGA invites public to experience Bahrain's latest digital services at Marassi Galleria stand
The Information & eGovernment Authority (iGA) invites citizens and residents in Bahrain to visit its awareness stand at Marassi Galleria, starting this week until Tuesday, June 3, to learn about its latest digital projects. Lulwa Sami, Director of Communications and Marketing at the iGA, confirmed that the awareness stand is part of the Authority's ongoing efforts to enhance communication with citizens and residents, raise awareness about integrated digital services and channels, and provide necessary support. It also aims to open direct channels for feedback to help improve the Authority's digital services and projects. The stand will introduce visitors to several digital projects, including the MyGov app and the updated eKey 2.0, both available on the eGovernment app store ( and the 13th eGovernment Excellence Award 2025.
