Inside The Honesty Box's Lucinda Light's life - from MAFS Australia to impressive career

Daily Mirror05-05-2025
Lucinda Light is best known for her appearance on Married At First Sight Australia in 2024 - but the star has also had an impressive career away from reality TV
Lucinda Light has joined forces with Vicky Pattison to lead the brand-new E4 dating spectacle The Honesty Box, which made its debut on Monday (28th April).
The fresh series throws 12 hopeful singles into a villa, affectionately dubbed Truetopia, pairing them up and challenging them with trips to The Honesty Box. There, they must spill the beans about their romantic histories among other topics, all while a lie detector stands by to snare any fibbers.

Vicky is well-versed in the world of reality TV, and Lucinda is no newbie either, having gained fame from her stint on Married At First Sight Australia.

Let's delve into Lucinda's background, her MAFS journey, and what she gets up to when the cameras stop rolling....
Who is Lucinda?
Lucinda Light is a holistic counsellor, marriage celebrant, and a familiar face in reality television, reports OK!.
She penned the book Shine Your Light: A Guided Journal for Deepening Your Emotional Intelligence and has established herself as an inspirational speaker, travelling globally to talk about her life lessons and promote her "toolkit of grounding exercises".
With a hefty Instagram following of 642,000, Lucinda keeps her fans in the loop with regular updates on her professional endeavours and personal escapades.
Her appearance on MAFS Australia in 2024 significantly raised her public profile, with Lucinda expressing to Daily Mail Australia: "The amount of opportunities that have come my way has been beyond my wildest imaginings.

"I live in a quiet coastal town, so mostly I'm keeping things normal on a domestic level - cooking, enjoying nature, and getting good sleep. It's still quite surreal being recognised when I'm in Melbourne or elsewhere."
Lucinda's MAFS journey
2024 saw Lucinda grace the screens as one of the brides on Married At First Sight Australia. Paired with Timothy Smith for the E4 series, their union didn't spark the flames of romance.

While Timothy and Lucinda parted on amicable terms from the social experiment, it seems the friendship has since simmered down, with Timothy opting to block his former screen-spouse on all social media outlets.
Taking to TikTok, Timothy expressed: "I wish Lu all the best in the future and there is no question that sometimes people's paths take different directions. And that's where it is."
On the flip side, Lucinda took to Instagram sharing her sentiment: "In my heart, I've always held Tim with understanding and compassion. I take responsibility for any hurt I may of caused by sharing my feelings and hurts. There are no hard feelings my end and I still hold a lantern of hope for our friendship."

Lucinda entered into the world of MAFS hoping to secure a partner. Quite intriguingly, she confessed that prior to joining the show, she hadn't watched television in two decades, having seen the casting call on social media.
Speaking to The Spin Off, Lucinda recounted: "I needed something that would blast me into the stratosphere and really put myself out there. And of course, I wanted the husband."

Who is Lucinda dating?
Lucinda is reportedly flying solo at the moment, with no romantic entanglements on the horizon.
In a candid chat last year about her post-MAFS love life, she confessed to Heart: "I'm absolutely carving out time next year to date, because I am looking for my husband and you know."
She added, "I just want to meet someone that, yeah, we really get each other. I suppose our lifestyles are quite complimentary. And I mean, the truth is I don't really plan to slow down anytime soon."

Love Island's Dejon hits back at 'unfair' backlash after release of 'tell-all' book

Love Island star Dejon Noel-Williams has hit out at 'untruths' as he continues to be the subject of criticism following his time in the Spanish villa with Megan Moore Love Island star Dejon Noel-Williams insists he's been the target of "a lot of untruths". The 26-year-old telly star has come under fire for his treatment of girlfriend Megan Moore during their stint in the Love Island villa, and is now the focus of a new book - Surviving Dejon - written by his stepsister, Niah Sienna. ‌ Addressing the recent backlash, Dejon, who fans hit out at multiple times while he was on the show, told Capital XTRA: "There's a lot of untruths and a lot of unfair stories which I am challenging at the moment. The most important thing is that Meg knows who I am, my family know who I am, and my friends know who I am." ‌ Dejon also expressed gratitude to Andrada Pop and Billykiss Azeez for their recent backing. It comes after Andy Carroll 'splits from Lou Teasdale due to her demands' weeks after public row. ‌ He said: "Even shoutout to Andrada and Billykiss because when we saw them when was coming out of the villa they were basically saying, 'Dejon, there's so much things being said about you. We know that's not you. We know that's not who you are as a person'. "So yeah shoutout to them two because they didn't need to do that." Recently, Dejon took to social media to remind the public that he's a "human being with real emotions". He posted on Instagram: "I've stayed quiet, but that doesn't mean it hasn't affected me. "I hold my self accountable for my communication and everyday I'm growing as a person, so thank you for those who see the good in me. ‌ |I'm not just a character on an entertainment reality tv show I'm also a human being with real emotions, some of the stuff I've seen said about me has been hard to deal with and they are the furthest thing from the truth." He added: "I questioned why people would do these things and it was getting me nowhere as I couldn't understand and is something I would never do to somebody else but what's kept me grounded is movement. "Running, training, pushing myself when everything in my head feels heavy. It clears my mind, helps me breathe, reminds me of who I am outside of the noise. ‌ "If you're struggling mentally, I get it. I really do. You don't have to have it all figured out just find that one thing that brings you back to yourself and take it one step at a time."

Young Celtic fan parties with BSC Young Boys in Switzerland after sweet viral clip in Glasgow

Footage captured the moment Joshua McLaughlin interacted with BSC Young Boys fans at Celtic Park earlier this year, a special relationship which has continued. A young Celtic fan has partied with BSC Young Boys in Switzerland after footage captured him meeting their fans in Glasgow earlier this year. ‌ The viral clip showed eight-year-old Joshua McLaughlin and his dad walking over to applaud the away fans after being blown away by the atmosphere they created at the crunch Champions League game fixture in January. ‌ The supporters took Joshua to their hearts and he has now visited Switzerland twice in recent months. ‌ Following the game at Celtic Park, Joshua's dad, Kevin, wanted to buy his son a BSC Young Boys jersey but when he contacted the club the pair were invited over for a match. They enjoyed an all expenses paid trip to Switzerland in April, where the Elderslie youngster was asked to be the club mascot for the day as the Swiss outfit played Yverdon Sport FC. Joshua begged his dad to go over again during the school holidays and they were given an unbelievable reception from the locals last weekend. Speaking to the Record, Kevin, 53, explained how his son struck up a close friendship with local lads Jonas Boss and Giuliano Matturro in April and was desperate to go back over for a game this summer. ‌ Kevin arranged a trip to take in BSC Young Boy's match against FC Sion on Sunday, August 10. At the match, goalkeeper Marvin Keller and defender Jaouen Hadjam even noticed Joshua and came over and spent some time with him. ‌ Kevin said: "I tried to keep it as low key as possible, but the day before the game I posted a picture on Instagram and the club shared it and hundreds of Swiss people started following me. "So many people inside the stadium seemed to recognise us and the attention was so overwhelming. "We went out for dinner that night and the guy who owned the restaurant refused to let us pay for our meal. ‌ "It was the same when we visited the country earlier this year, the Swiss fans have just been absolutely amazing throughout and Joshua is stopped all the time and asked for selfies. "It has all been such a whirlwind of emotions and came off the back of the one incident inside Celtic Park." ‌ Kevin explained he had never seen such a noisy and colourful away support in all his years following Celtic during the January game. He said from the moment they stepped inside the stadium that night Joshua was completely fascinated. ‌ "By that point all of the home fans were away so we must have stood out as we walked over to be near them. "The fans started doing that thing you see in the video where they sort of hum and put out their hands. ‌ "Joshua walked over and they let off two huge roars and applauded him. "It was such a special moment for us both and I was bursting with pride." ‌ Kevin uploaded his video on social media before going to bed that night and woke up to find it had gone viral. The dad was inundated with messages from supporters of the Swiss club. He said their lives haven't been the same since and the club are going to be a fixture in their lives going forward. Kevin added: "I don't know where it will go from here but it has been a wonderful journey so far. "BSC Young Boys are definitely our second club now and Joshua has absolutely fallen in love with them." Join the Daily Record WhatsApp community!
