Noel Gallagher seen 'tearing up' while playing to Edinburgh crowd at Murrayfield
Oasis wrapped up their second sold-out show at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Saturday (August 9th), and with just one show left to go on Tuesday (August 12th) before the band head off to Dublin to wrap up the UK and Ireland leg of their Live '25 reunion tour, things have started to get emotional.
The string of sold-out shows across the country has marked the first time in 16 years that Noel Gallagher and his brother Liam Gallagher have shared a stage as Oasis, following their explosive break-up in 2009. After walking on stage to greet the Murrayfield crowd hand-in-hand, Noel was spotted tearing up during one moving track on the setlist.
In a video shared on TikTok by Oasis fan Andrew Douglas, tears could be seen in the 58-year-old musician's eyes as he serenaded the crowd with the 1995 B-side track Talk Tonight.
The fan captioned his video: "The Noel Gallagher tearing up while playing at Murrayfield Stadium."
Commenters on the post were moved by Noel's emotional display, with many others who were at the gig praising his performance and stating he "looked humbled the whole night".
One person said: "I just wanna give him a hug, he deserves all the love and appreciation."
While another added: "He did have a tear. He looked humbled the whole night, but the crowd were amazing."
A third posted: "I noticed this too! Thought I was imagining it!"
While a fourth wrote: "Aww he is tearing up eh - wee soul."
Some joked that it was "probably the wind" however that was making Noel look teary-eyed, while someone else stated that sometimes your eyes just start watering when you get older, and it's not necessarily tears.
Talk Tonight was released as a B-side to Wonderwall in 1995, and was later included on Oasis' B-side compilation album, The Masterplan, in 1998. The track was inspired by the near-breakup of the band in 1994, when Noel temporarily quit the band after an infamously poor gig in Los Angeles, USA.
Noel travelled from LA to San Francisco without informing the rest of the band and stayed with a woman that he had befriended during the band's previous show in the city. According to the sleeve notes in The Masterplan album, she talked Noel "off the ledge" and helped him realise that leaving the band would be a bad idea.
In the 2016 documentary, Supersonic, Noel said he couldn't remember the woman's name or what she looked like, but in an interview later that year, Melissa Lim claimed to be the woman in question.
She said: "San Francisco has a reputation of being a place where bands come to die, like The Band and the Sex Pistols. I wasn't going to let it happen on my watch. I told him, 'You can't leave the band - you're on the verge of something big.'"
Although it may not be confirmed if Noel was crying at the Murrayfield gig or not, it could be that the memories of almost giving up on Oasis before they ever really got started came back to him during the song.

Liam and Noel Gallagher's brother Paul dropped from Oasis afterparty after rape
Paul Gallagher will no longer perform at an official afterparty in Dublin this weekend, ahead of his scheduled court appearance later this month. The elder brother of Oasis frontmen Liam Gallagher and Noel Gallagher, 59, had been due to DJ at The Grand Social on Saturday to coincide with the band's two sold-out Croke Park shows on August 16 and 17. The venue confirmed that he had been removed from the line-up, with Mani of The Stone Roses now set to perform on Saturday night, and former Creation Records boss Alan McGee on Sunday. In July, the Metropolitan Police announced Gallagher had been charged with multiple offences, including rape, coercive and controlling behaviour, three counts of sexual assault, three counts of intentional strangulation, two counts of making a threat to kill, and assault occasioning actual bodily harm. In a statement to Metro, a spokesman for the Metropolitan Police said: 'The offences are reported to have taken place between 2022 – 2024. The charges follow an investigation that commenced in 2024. A woman is being supported by specially-trained officers.' Gallagher, who lives in East Finchley, north London, is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates' Court on Wednesday, August 27. The afterparties are part of a series of fan events organised by Up Close and Personal Promotions to accompany the Oasis Live '25 tour, the long-awaited reunion announced last August. It was previously reported that Liam has moved his brother Paul into his £4million mansion ahead of his court date this month. According to The Sun, younger brother Liam is supporting his older sibling by allowing him to stay at his home in North London. A source for the publication also reports that Liam flew Paul to the band's latest gig in Edinburgh, utilising a £3.5million private jet. Pictures obtained by The Sun on Sunday depict Liam and Paul arriving at Luton airport, where they laughed and joked before hopping on the private jet together. Another image shows Paul at Liam's London mansion, dragging wheely luggage behind him as he carries a heavy backpack. A source told the publication: 'Liam is supporting Paul through this. He invited him to stay with him at his house before they travelled to Edinburgh. 'Paul looked like he was moving in and had two large suitcases. When he was at the airport he only had one smaller case.' More Trending 'It says a lot about Liam. He has an incredibly hectic schedule at the moment because of the tour — but he wants to be there for his big brother.' The third Gallagher sibling has never been a member of Oasis, but worked as a DJ and photographer while the band toured back in the day. The reunion tour began in Cardiff in July, before heading to Manchester, London, and Edinburgh, and will continue across Ireland and Europe in the coming weeks. Oasis last performed together in 2009, when a backstage row between Liam and Noel Gallagher led to their dramatic split,. Got a story?
