Noel Gallagher 'tears up' during emotional Oasis set in front of Scottish crowd
Oasis concluded their second consecutive sold-out performance at Murrayfield Stadium in Edinburgh on Saturday (August 9th), and with only one remaining gig on Tuesday (August 12th) before the group travels to Dublin to complete the UK and Ireland portion of their Live '25 reunion tour, emotions have begun to run high.
The series of packed performances nationwide has represented the first time in 16 years that Noel Gallagher and his brother Liam Gallagher have appeared together on stage as Oasis, after their dramatic split in 2009. Following their entrance onto the Murrayfield stage while holding hands, Noel became tearful during one particularly poignant number from their set.
In footage posted on TikTok by Oasis enthusiast Andrew Douglas, tears were visible in the 58-year-old performer's eyes as he performed the 1995 B-side number Talk Tonight for the crowd.
The supporter wrote alongside his clip: "The Noel Gallagher tearing up while playing at Murrayfield Stadium."
Those commenting beneath the post were touched by Noel's heartfelt moment. Numerous other concert-goers commend his show and note that he "looked humbled the whole night."
One individual commented: "I just wanna give him a hug, he deserves all the love and appreciation."
Meanwhile, another contributed: "He did have a tear. He looked humbled the whole night, but the crowd were amazing."
A third shared: "I noticed this too! Thought I was imagining it!".
Whilst a fourth remarked: "Aww, he is tearing up, eh - wee soul."
Some fans quipped that it was "probably the wind" that caused Noel to appear tearful, while others suggested that watery eyes are simply part of getting older and don't necessarily indicate genuine emotion.
Talk Tonight was originally released as a B-side to Wonderwall in 1995 and featured on Oasis' B-side collection The Masterplan three years later, in 1998. The song drew inspiration from the band's near-collapse in 1994, when Noel briefly walked away following a disastrous performance in Los Angeles, USA.
Noel departed LA for San Francisco without telling his bandmates and found refuge with a woman he'd met during their earlier show in the city. According to liner notes from The Masterplan album, she convinced Noel to reconsider and helped him understand that abandoning the group would be a mistake.
Speaking in the 2016 film Supersonic, Noel admitted he couldn't recall the woman's identity or appearance, though later that year Melissa Lim stepped forward claiming to be the person involved.
She revealed: "San Francisco has a reputation of being a place where bands come to die, like The Band and the Sex Pistols. I wasn't going to let it happen on my watch. I told him, 'You can't leave the band - you're on the verge of something big.'".
Whilst it remains unclear whether Noel was genuinely emotional during the Murrayfield performance, it's possible that recollections of nearly abandoning Oasis before their breakthrough flooded back whilst performing the track.

Sophie Turner hits back at claims she ‘forgot' children at Oasis concert
Sophie Turner has blasted her critics after being called out for simply enjoying an Oasis gig. The 29-year-old former Game of Thrones star – who has daughters Willa, four, and Delphine, two, with ex husband Joe Jonas – recently revealed she'd enjoyed a night out at the Britpop legends' ongoing reunion tour. Last week, Sophie shared some photos and videos from her night at one of the Wonderwall band's recent Wembley Stadium gigs. 'Bucket hats & beers…. That'll do me. Thank you @levis,' she captioned the innocuous post. However, that was enough for her to be mum-shamed by a troll in the comments, who claimed she had 'forgotten' her children by daring to have an evening out. 'Lmfao. I think she has forgotten that she has two kids,' they commented in something of an overreaction. Sophie replied: 'Ah I'm so sorry sometimes I forget some people can't think for themselves. 'So… Get this…There's this crazy thing called shared custody. Maybe, just maybe, they were with their dad that day.' That answers that then. To view this video please enable JavaScript, and consider upgrading to a web browser that supports HTML5 video Sophie's ex Joe filed for divorce in September 2023, and despite a tense legal battle the couple later reached a custody agreement. They said at the time: 'After a productive and successful mediation, we have agreed that the children will spend time equally in loving homes in both the US and the UK. 'We look forward to being great co-parents.' Despite the initial disagreements, the couple have moved on to do what's best for their children, and Joe has spoken openly about Sophie as a positive role model for their girls. In May, he told Jay Shetty: 'Having an incredible mom, Sophie, for those girls is like a dream come true. As young girls, looking up to great women is what I want for them. 'I think what values I want for them are to be open-minded and have a big heart, be able to walk into any room and feel confidence and know that they can do literally anything they want.' More Trending Just last month, the Jonas Brothers singer revealed he and his ex have a 'great co-parenting relationship'. He told the School of Greatness podcast: 'I have a great co-parenting relationship, which is really important to me.' He described being a father to his 'beautiful' children as 'the greatest joy and journey', while praising the influence Sophie has on their kids. He added: 'My little ones have some incredible women to look up to, including their mom.' Got a story? 'My wedding dress cost £350 was made in 24 hours - but the level of detail is insane'
A video has been viral of woman's detailed wedding dress which only took a day to make at the price of £350 leaving viewers shocked at the speed such a detail dress could be made A TikTok bride has gone viral after her jaw-dropping wedding dress turned heads for its bold colour, beaded detail and the story behind it. Benee, known as @Bkziah on TikTok, is Ghanaian and knew exactly what she wanted for her traditional wedding: a vibrant, intricately beaded Kente gown that reflected her culture. But it wasn't just the design that had people talking - it was the speed, her dream dress was handmade in just 24 hours. For many, the idea of pulling off a wedding dress in a few days sounds impossible. Weddings are often synonymous with hefty costs and long planning timelines especially when it comes to the dress. But Benee's journey flipped the script completely, it comes after a woman claimed 'My friend is naming her baby after a fish – she can't see how ugly it is'. In her video, she explains how she designed her dream gown herself and found a dressmaker in Ghana to bring the vision to life. But she quickly found out the process isn't easy. 'Getting your outfit made back home is not for the faint-hearted,' she warned, adding that while it's worth it for the cultural meaning, some of the quotes she received were way over budget. Eventually, Ghana-based designer @Dashis_label agreed to make the dress for £350 which worked out to roughly GH 7,000 in Ghanaian currency. A few weeks before the wedding, Benee flew from London to Ghana to get fitted - only to arrive and find out the dress hadn't even been started. 'You can imagine my bewilderment,' she said, adding that the delay left her 'unleashing her bridezilla.' But within 24 hours, the dress was done and all that had to be done was the final beading. By the next day, Benee was fully glammed up in her orange, purple and pink masterpiece, covered in glistening beads and traditional detailing. 'I was blown away and so impressed by the work they had done.' A little over a month later, the dress was done and it came exactly how she designed it and Benee explained it made her enjoy the day more saying 'there's nothing quite like feeling good about how you look.' Videos of her wedding dress has gained huge traction on Tiktok, with people stunned by the design and just how quick it was to make. Help us improve our content by completing the survey below.
